5W-30 oil ok ?
I had my oil changed yesterday and after they drained it they realized they did not have any 5W-20 so they used 5W-30 (This is Mobil 1 BTW). Will this have any negative effects ?

I didn't look at the manual, the guy doing the oil change said it is supposed to use 5W-20 and he was out of it....I guess I shouldn't trust the oil change guy huh

You people are insane.....5w30 is wayyyyy to thin for the environments that you live. It should only be used in environments that are cold all the time. Mobil-1 synthetic or 10w30 should be the only thing that goes into your engines.

yeah, 5w30 is too thin for hot temps. Basically, if live in a hot environment like miami or arizona you should use something with a 15w. If you go with synthetic you'll be cover year round. Oil flush is good when you're switching.
