5th and 6th Gear

I have not yet driven a 6 speed but today I sat in one and played with the shifter. 1 through 4 seemed wonderful but I seemed to have trouble getting the shifter into 5th (and occasionally 6th). Anyone out there who owns one have this problem?

5 & 6 are no problemo. However sometimes 1st is a little notchy, although that seems to have lessened after a couple of hundred miles.

Five could be a problem if you have moved the lever to the reverse gate. Naturally you can't push it forward from there. Also, there is an interlock when in 5th that prevents an accidental shift into Reverse from there. You may have believed you were about to place it into 6th but may have been too far over and into the Reverse gate.

Nope. I dont think I have missed yet. Of course, I only have about 60 miles in but there are no highway miles in there so lots of shifting.

I really dont know what everyone is talking about here. The shifting seems to come second nature.

I had a few problems on the ride home from the dealer, but everything is fine now.
The gate is REAL close and takes some getting used to.

Where did we come from? Pretty much straight from the closest dealership.

Anthracite guy here ..... the name is Stu ..... 5th and 6th are no problem. The gears are clearly smoother when driving the as opposed to sitting and running through them.

No problems with mine, either. Every shift has been smooth as silk. Best FWD shifter I've ever used - and I own or have owned 4 other Honda FWD manual cars.
