clearing headlights?

I know this topic has been talked about alot of times. But when instructions say to take out as much of the orginal silicon as you can, how much is that? I actually said to myself to take all of it out, but while doing it I thought no way! So again how much is enough and how long from when you apply the new silicon to put the headlights back on? Man this thing is harder (or longer) than I thought. Thanks

Use a hair dryer to get it hot. It will help get it out. Get out as much as possible. I heard the best way is to not take any out at all and heat the orginal silicone and put them back together. Then apply the some extra silicone afterwards. I did mine the way you are trying and one headlight was perfect. The other headlight always would get fogged up but shit I even have a problem with fogging up now that I have new casings that are not cleared.

I wish I read more people having success w/ using the original silicon so I don't waste my time. Oh well, I think I am almost done w/ it. Just got to know how much new to put now.
