Hello all, I've been down for a while, I would like to know if its possible to swap a 3rd gen tl engine & trans in the cl. I'm in the process of getting my cl back on the road and exploring some options.

Its not easy to do an exact search.

That's the ONLY 3G thread you're going to find here.... the most popular swap is the 03 CLS engine and manny trans... into a auto tl/cl.

 

Im my opinion...it would just be easier to stroke your CL block to a 3.5 -vs- working in a whole new engine. If that is what your going for, thats just my 2 cents.

 

^ That's true if it was a manual CL. If he has an auto, he probably wants a more reliable trans.

true, but i'm just going for reliability, not racing. i found a j32a3 for cheap out of an 05 and thought maybe if it will just be an easy swap
