36,650 km brake failure

was crusing last night and coming up to a light and went to tap the brake when i notice nothing was there, the pedal went to the floor. scared the living shit out of me. by pumping the hell out of pedal i was able to get the car stop, there was nobody ahead of me and thank god nobody was going thru the light cause i went straight thru.

here's were thing get werid i shut the car off and restart the car and presto everythings fine.
i took the car to the dealer and they can't find a code or anything wrong. i did have brake manaintance performed at 36,000km service. And there telling me that they haven't had anything like that happen.

My buddy found some info from the 2002 lemon-aid book and i quote SERVICE BULLETIN PROBLEMS "sudden, unintended acceleleration, accompanied by loss of braking ability".

HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM

they said it has to be a computer problem.?

i found acura and of course they never heard of such problems and said that the lemon-aid book is full of shit.

Is that quote referring to the CL? That description sounds like an issue related to the old Audi 5000.

A couple advices for you:

- Check your brake booster vaccume tube to see if fell off
- USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS. That is just what it's for. The emergency brake uses an actual cable linkage mechanism instead of fluid flow to pull on your rear brakes to stop the car. It's not as good as hydraulic brakes, but it works.

thanks

the emergancy brake is in a awakward place for me, i have artifical limbs(below knee amputee) so i wasn't able to get there fast i thought for sure that i was going to get smoked at the light, that i was more or less bracing my self for impact.

i will be prepared in the future if this happens again.

i was hoping by posting this thread
thati could find out if others had this happen to them

and to let all fellow Cl driver be aware.
