That's what I have averaged on my last 10 tanks of 89, mostly highway. Keep in mind that it's warm up here in New England, so about 50% of that time is with the AC on.
Not bad, eh?

Honestly I don't even stick to one particular one. Usually it's either a Getty or a Mobil, but I haven't been intentionally gonig out of my way for one particular place. I have 90k miles, run synthetic always, have a brand new transmission and check my tires (Yoko AVS, 235/45/17) regularly, that's about it.

Congrats! what mods do you have done to your car? Mods have helped my MPG after I'm done testing them out.
I have yet to have a strictly highway trip, but I get 25+ easy in suburban driving and have gotten 29 before on a tank where I didnt floor it at all. I coast to red lights and accelerate slow most of the time.

235 tires hurt me quite a bit..
Even with the intake/headers and a fresh tune-up I'm lucky to get 28mpg on the highway. With the stock 215s I'd expect 30+mpg pretty easily.
On the plus side, even beating on the car in the city I usually do no worse than 23mpg.

Best mpg I've gotten was 34.7mpg driving from Houston through Louisiana and back last October. I've gotten +30 multiple time on the highway, but usually get 19mpg driving in the city.

My gas mileage doesn't change much with 89 octane. I just feel a slight loss in power. I have 235 tires and I still get over 30 on the highway expect my one trip I was loaded down with a car full of luggage, which was 28. I switch between 89 and 93 cause gas is too much!! My dad has an 02 TL-S with 160k and he runs only 89 octane and has never had any problems, well except one tranny!

i can feel another flame coming on...oh well ill start then, 30k car and you skimping 20 cents per gallon. ok im done.
i get about 20-21 mpg, about 85-95 percent city. running 225/40/18 at max tire pressure (44 psi) not the pressure stated on the car (29-32 psi).

On cruise control, I can average 28-29 MPG at 75-80 MPH on my S/C'd CLS-6 going up and down the turnpike to Central Florida. However, if I get to heavy on the boost, MPG goes way down. :

'Premium' (91) is displayed everywhere so the car doesn't lose performance resulting in customer complaints. If you are fully aware that the engine will retard the timing using less than 91 octane, there is nothing wrong with that. In fact it won't even make a difference at all unless the engine is under a high load (flooring, accelerating hard, hill, etc...). I even think you'll get better gas mileage with lower octane because it is less resistant to combust. But I never did a experiment to prove it. I should of when I had my Accord... I drove that thing for 245,000 miles! I'm not wasting 'expensive' gas in my Prius trying to figure it out. Plus at 600+ miles/tank it would take forever!

i would think that higher octane gas gives better MPG. guess i was wrong
well i'll stick with 91 since i like spirited driving.
we don't have a 93 in LA.... i think we have a 100 (something, not sure on exact octane) in san marino or pasadena

I've been using FuelEconomy.gov to track my mileage. Works nice and graphs your fuel economy over time. It'd be really cool to see more CL owners use the service as you can choose to share your mileage info so other owners can see how they compare. Right now there's only info from like 3 other users in addition to myself. Best I've gotten is 32MPG on the highway at speeds from 55-85mph (ran 85mph for a good 2 hours straight).

yawn! When any of you exceed my unofficial Acura-cl.com record of 579 miles from one tankful of gas, and consistently exceed 30mpg for each/every tankful of gas for the past 147K + miles, let me know.
