30k SERVICE.....it pays to shop around!

Damn..I cant believe the price discrepencies between dealerships... So I called two dealerships today for the 30k service, Continental Acura (Lisle, IL). and they gave me a quote of $225.90 I also called Ed Napleton Acura...same service their costs frickin $419!!! Woodfield was also on my list, but their service is closed for the day....bottom line- you can get seriously get ripped by some dealerships!

They're not talking about an extended warranty here. It's the 30,000 mile service. Although the pricing sure does sound close to that of an extended warranty.

What is it in a 30k service that requires so much from a dealer. I can't think of anything I wouldn't do myself, possibly even the TB.

If you want to keep your warranty, it would be better to have the dealer or a qualified Acura shop do the 15K, 30K etc etc!!! I just got mine done and it cost a total of $217 and that includes Castrol Synthetic Oil. Well worth the piece of mind!!

Remember guys when you are having your car serviced at the dealer or anywhere else you are paying for labor/time. The total parts for this service shoud be about $150 the rest is labor & a little for EPA. They do a brake inspection & clean them while they are at it. At least they charge for brake cleaner. They rotate & balance the tires they replace air filter replace A/C Cabin Filter Oil filter , Tranny Flush I am not sure if every dealer does it but mine does. They put additives in the car such as BG products MOA oil treat, BG 44K fuel treat & ATC trans treat conditioner. The rest is checks & inspections of the fuel lines, cooling system hoses, drive belts ,brakes system for wear & parking brake adjustment, emission, axle cv boots & joints, suspension, exhaust system, spark plug wires, ect. The labor for ths is about $150. When added up together $150 for parts $150 for labor thats your $300 service.
