30k Service
30k Service
I just called a Honda dealer to see what the cost is for the 30k service on my 2001 CL-S.. Just to see what their price is relative to Acura. It was $299, about $150 less than the Acura dealers in my area. The following list is what they do for the 30k service.. Is this exactly the same as what an Acura dealer would do? Thanks for the help.
- lube oil and filter change
- tire rotation / pressure
- bake fluid change / inspection
- transmission fluid change
- air filter change
- lights / accessories
- parking break check, etc etc
- Thanks!

I doubt if it was exactly the same.
I paid 199 for a 30K check up that included an alignment air flter, tranny fluid, and synthetic oil. There might of been a couple of other things...
Acura told me that I could pick and choose what I wanted. If you read through the 30K check up they want to do things like...
purge your brake fluid, blow out the lines and refill.
pull all the plugs and check them
and on and on..
If you allow them to do all that crap to your car, it would cost 450.00. Or essetially 250 to have them wash and vacuum your car.

Not sure about the AC filters... They did not replace them. Acura dealers make their money on service more than anything else. If you go back to the dealer and get the regular stuff done, then they are more likely to give you a sweeter deal the next time you purchase since their records will show what you spent...
pay me now or pay me later.
I for one do not want them pulling plugs that are suppose to run till 96k at 30K to see if they are ok. If it ain't broke, do not mess with it.
Better yet just plan to trade in by 45k. that way the car is still under warranty and they can certify it, making the factory pick up the tab for any work needed because it is under warranty. And, you can just change fluids and rotate tires if you do not smoke them off.
