3- good "RIMS" left until......

Ardmore Acura replaces the right front RIM that was destroyed in the carwash.

I took my car in on Wedsday to have the tranny fluid changed out at 15,600miles and to have the state inspection done. They resurfaced my rotors and replaced my pads with the new compounds from Honda under warranty. All seemed well until I took a closer look at the newly resurfaced brake rotors and FREAKED!!!!

Let me put it to you this way, all five spokes of the virgin alloy rim was torn to hell

with scratches, scrapes, chucks & pieces out of the alloy. I thought I was going to lose it right there in the lot. Well the discussions did not last long at the dealer and they are going to replace the rim. I was told that the guy took it over to a 3rd- party carwash and did not know about the rim/tire condition we have on these cars. I assume that no driving jackass hit the metal rail going in and thats all she wrote.

I really can't blame Ardmore Acura because I did get great service from them, I just warned them about staying away from these "fastfood" carwashes.

I had the same thing done by my dealer when they did my brakes.. In my situation, I think the mechanic dropped the rim Face Down on the ground...

That is exactly why I bring my car to them clean. Not only that, but I leave a nice little posted noted over the radio the says, "Please do not clean are vacuum this car."

Thanks for the tip xenon, my dealer is pretty performance oriented, but you never know who's washing it.
