3.5L short block kit pics
An assembled engine prior to installation in shipping crate...kit includes all necessary gaskets, no additional parts except coolant and oil required (and headers/CAI for maximum perf)....

The kits are available now and can be purchased through ACP.com for $2500 plus freight (no handling, just the carriers bill). There is no core so you keep your block as a good spare and the engine is warranteed (parts only) for 1 year as a complete replacement built by us.

How about timing belt, alternator, alternator bracket, throttle cable bracket, water pump, etc.
Will all of this swap directly over from the 3.2 with no clearance issues? Or do we need to get these pieces from the RL to make this work?
The reason I ask is we have done a few Type-R block swaps into Civic Si (99-00)--also supposed to be a direct swap--and all of the above listed parts are different and needed to be sourced out as well.
Thanks a lot

typeR,
Thanks you!
I was not trying to come across as a smart a**, we are actually going to be doing one of these soon and wanted to make sure of what we are getting into.

315 at crank...260 torque... but how about this. see track slips
with really bad traction posted by RAdams in the other thread 315/260 2.0** '60ft and 9.10* 1/8th times 14.1 1/4 at over 100mph to put these in prospective a stock cl-s runs between 10.0 and 9.8 1/8ths i run 9.4's with all my mods and good rubber
with my draggers a 9.0 i see as possible and that is squarley in the 13's

Is this just the same "conversion" as Rick Case's 3.5? Just cheaper, because headers, intake, exhaust, software upgrade, & tranny work plus installtion is not included.

Happy CL-S Pilot
I just talked to the Manager of the Direct Technicions ( they do internal engine work too) where I installed UR pulleys this morning, I mentioned the lower block of MDX on CL-S. He said that you would get lower torque but suffer at the high end.
BTW, What is the redline on MDX. 5600 rpm! Ours is 6900! You can not run the MDX block at 6900rpm! And the torque curve would drop sharply.

The RL\NSX use the 90 degree C series V6.
The legend owners have beeen scheming over a 3.5L upgrade with a parts transplant out of the RL.
Obviously your 3.5 would have to come from the MDX.
With the high flowing Type S heads that 3.5L will make a lot of power and still stay fairly rev-happy.

Looking at this brochure in front of me, the MDX redline appears to be at about 6250. Yes, you're putting more stress on the bottom end by revving it higher, but we're not talking a great difference here.
Honda's the company that gave us production engines with average piston speeds (24.4m/s) higher than a lot of F1 cars of its time: The 1994 Integra GS-R. I'd rev this 3.5L mill to 7 grand all day long and not be worried one bit.
Also... the theory that this motor will "die up top" is just that -- theory. The S cams are designed for top end power. I can attest to the fact that this puppy pulls ALL THE WAY to redline.
I'm very "on the fence" about getting this done to my own car in the near future
