Headers came today. For the price i paid im happy with them. They're very light compared to stock components.
Gotta finish porting the intake stuff and install intake and fuel rails and shes done. Being this far makes me want to get the other motor out and this one in ASAP.

Maybe some ZEX? Honda, Acura, Hyundai & Mitsubishi Dry Nitrous System - Mitsubishi - Model Specific Systems - Nitrous Systems

Props for all the hard work! Especially in a tent outside!

Manzo headers off ebay. 140 USD. Cant complain. They even seem to have the bend in the rear for manual tranny mount, well see when the time comes.
Nitrous for use off public roads. Im hoping to do a 1/4 mile run this summer ive never been.
I run a construction propane heater it gets toasty in my tent in no time lol. Good project to keep busy and pass the time in the winter.

I'd love to tackle a project like this when life settles down a bit. Yes that's my car on kijiji, I've owned it since 2011, but had a modded silver CLS6 prior to that since 2006.

That looks clean!
The hood won't close with the spacer. You can washers to raise the hood or mill the spacer down.

Couldnt waite lol. suprisingly there was enough room to lift AND take the motor out i was scared i was gonna have to drag the car back out a bit but with no front wheels that woulda sucked.
Grimey.
This was not from my car but from the one i scrapped for parts. June 17th 2011 someone was in there. rebuilt maybe? hope so. This is the one going in the car as mine was doing the 2 - 3 fluckaround
tight parking in here but got it out and down.

Don't worry, with your skillsets, throwing an AV6 auto tranny in there will be a cinch should that one eventually 'crap the bed' after your torquey J35 install.

lol, yeah. I remember you saying that in the earlier posts above. That's an even better idea and match for that beast of an engine you are installing.

There is a guy on the 2G TL side who is swapping a J35A3 into his '02 TL-S that has an AV6 tranny already, so it will be interesting to see how that combination works together over the 'long haul'.

It will be just as interesting to see how yours develops overtime with a CL-S auto tranny.

To anyone thinking of getting the manzo headers the fitment of the j pipe is shit. Had to get long bolts put them in on an angle and torque it into place. Hopefully it retains that shape after a few heat cycles and is easier next time. The ebay vendor refunded me 30 USD for the trouble.

Get what u pay for lol. Still 350$ cheaper than any other headers.

P2R is selling big tube header now for 400 or less, but it doesn' have bend for 6 speed cl.

I'd like to see them as well. I don't think they've (P2R) set one up yet (link); however, Adam Kovach below has got good news for us 6-speed guys if we want to go the P2R route.

to your success/efforts.

Don't forget to 'check in' once in a while with your impressions over the long haul.

Small piece of center beam cut.

3 valve cover bolt gromet things for spacers.
I tried with just 2 valve cover gromets but i ended up putting a small dent in the hood from the passenger side part of intake. 3 of them stacked is about an inch.

Also an update on how the motor runs it runs great i get no traction but the roads are still cold so well see once summer hits.
I also have a uni-chip that i was running before so i tried it out but got flashing CEL i havent pulled the code yet but im almost positive its leaning it out too much because of the added displacement. I have no idea if anyone even custom tunes these units anywhere near me. They sell a tuning software package for 300$ but thats a little steep i dont even know if ill be able to find someone to tune it. Thinking about just selling the chip and putting some of that money towards a small nitrous shot then get some slicks for a 1/4 mile run.
Suggestions on a good tire setup for this? New to me.

Remove any tune or chip you have, they don't work. The stock ECU can handle the J35A3 just fine.

Lol i see myself spending $ on new tires in the near future. With the j32a2 on nice tires she stuck nice. I think my tires are one size smaller from previous owner though i might have to change that up.
I also dented my hood where the clearance was too tight. Small ding but ill need more spacers damn....
Tehcl did you also space the front like lift the hood latchbor just the rear hinges?

613,
Awesome job!! I recently did a J35 swap also but didn't go as far as you did with changing the heads or pulling the motion assembly. Just a cam swap from my A2 heads into the A3, IM spacer delete, and added some DC headers. Definitely gives the car a new feel
