3.2CL-S jacked for its rims...

Hey my friend has a 2001 Acura 3.2CL-S and found it on jacks with its rims gone this morning. What im wondering is...shes getting the rims/tires replaced with her insurance. Is there a great source for stock rims for that car? Kind of like if this happened to us we could find rims on this board or via an internet vendor.

Also, i told her to put locking lug nuts on...one regular "acura" set and another set at least of something non stock. Any ideas/brands? I really want to help her take this car off the convenient target list. Shes going to park on the street now with a club etc....before she was in a non secure garage which i think is worse than the street.

Then its off to a remote alarm with tilt sensor.

yeah she parks in a covered garage that cant be seen from the street or from the units but isnt secure...seems like a recipe for disaster.

The club is a joke. Any experienced thief can get through that in a matter of a few seconds.

check the blackmarket here because people are always looking to sell their stock rims! Or you can get the money from the insurance and buy aftermarket rims.

Damn, I better get my wife some wheel locks since I put my stock 17s on her accord!

That sucks, I had a very similar experience. Several years ago I lived in Greenwood in a condo with a downstairs garage that was "secure". My car was targeted by thieves several times. We had 3 breakins in only two years. I spoke to a cop about it once and he said thieves look for places like that. They hide and wait for someone to open the garage door, slipping in before it goes down. Then, usually late at night, they have all the time in the world to take stuff because they're out of sight from the road. For all the great things about Seattle, having one of the highest auto theft rates/break-ins isn't one of them.

seriously though...outside her "secure garage" is a 30 degree hill with a rest home full of busy-bodies peering out their windows at all hours across the street....im going to recommend she park on that hill and offer to buy a case of viagra to the first resident who sees someone jacking her car and calls police

True. That's why I ALWAYS watch my garage door until it closes all the way.

my aftermarket rims were jacked about 2 weeks ago off my acura cl. depending on what insurance she has, she might get it replaced, or a check fot the amt of the rims/tires. i have 21st century insurance and i had to provide the adjuster with a reciept for how much the rims cost, but i am only going to be getting 1,000 because thats the max thats covered for rims/tires, and btw my car has still not been fixed cuz my shocks rotors were messed up, and dents and scratches, also a hole on the bottom of the car that stuck out from the driver side seat.

Ouch that sux. CL-S rims are in demand, Accord Coupe owners like them. Good idea about the different wheel locks. I'm going as far as getting seat locks for my S2000.
