Well I met an old freind of mine in my cousins 15 practices (yes i was dancing in them and so was he). Well we get out and he shows me his car and i show him mines. After i told him if he wanted to go to the races so we headed out. Once we got there he told me that he wanted a run with me. So I headed out and waited to he go out and we were at like a 10mph roll When i beeped 3 times and hit it. I jumped infront (Btw i had it in 1) then shifted to 2 i was going like 40 when i see he is right behind my car, then i shift to D3 already going 60 and still have like a car and 1/4. When reaching 75 i see his ass right behind my door right by 80 he was taking me.

-We stop and talk about it didnt think i was going to beat him till like i hit 80 he was passing me. Well we went out again but this time i was going to my g/f's house and it was on the way to his. So we both keep racing and we end up at a red light when a ricer RS gets in the middle lane. When it hits green i gun it and so does my friend the rs didnt. So we get to the next light and make a right when i see the RS right behind my ass. I shift down to 2 when i hear him gun it i gun it. He was about to pass me b/c he hitted it first but when i floored it we were tied till i pulled like 6 cars after going like 80. Really slow car (RS).

-RS and me, so my lane that i was in had a bit of traffic so i got right behind his ass. So i shifted down again to 2 probably going like 35. So he guns the crap out of it and goes no where lmao! so i hit it and had to slow down b.c if not i would of it, the lane i was before clear and smoke his ass by the time again i was hitting like 75 and only could see little lights behind my review.

Btw my friend drives stick pretty good. So i dont think it wuz just the driver (s2000). He told me that they come with really little tq.

 

wow im still surprised that it took till 80 for the S2K to beat you. I would have guessed more like 50 because it does take them a min to get into their powerband with that 8K redline n whatnot. As for the RS, i used to smoke em left n right too when i had my CL....ahhh how i miss her =(

 

he told me it redlined at 8 or 9 dont remember. Yea but i was pretty suprised to.

 

what you got in your car, cause its pretty unbelievable what you just said about s2000 race. The stock S2000 will be about even with me. I have 02 CL with many mods.

 

1st gen s2ks with the 2.0 redline @ 9k rpms. The 2nd gen ones with the 2.2 redline @ 8k rpms.

 

I only have an intake and and an exhaust. He siad he wants to do it again this ill record it. btw dont know if this helps but my whole trunk is stripped.

Anything can happen on the streets but it's hard to believe you almost edged out an S2000. RWD, 240 hp and a 6 speed makes it a low 14/ high 13 second car. Your car would trap at probably 85mph with a mid 15 second ET.

But good run though, try to get it on video next time.

i think ur friend in the s2k didnt know how to run it. I got a 3.0 and 1st gen s2k and you can tell a total different. with the s2k if u're not use to driving it, u tend to not use all the power at the low gears cuz pull so fast. with the s2k when it hit vtec, dude you'll feel it...its scary sometime. it doesnt take long for the s to hit 100.

 

It's believable. Think about it, at 10mph, the s2k was probably at around 2,000 rpms or less. To gun it at that point, the s2k wouldnt have picked up all that much. My friend has a 1st gen s2k and if he doesn't launch it right, it's pretty slow off the line because of the bog. But if he launches it at the right rpm, that thing just pulls like crazy off the line. Plus, he did say the s2k started pulling on him in 3rd. Would have passed him up pretty easily had they taken it passed 95mph. In a roll, anything can happen. But off the dig, the obvious occurs. The 3.0's are horrible off the line. Coming out at 2,000rpms for us sucks balls.

 

if i was rolling at 10mph in the S i would hold the clutch and rev it up to about 4K and drop it, wheels would spin but it wont bog down.

i was rolling at about 30mph next to a MR-2 turbo one time. i clutch it...rev it up to probably over 6K in 2nd gear...in the meantime the dude was gunned and right when i release the clutch and pop it slightly...i was about 2 car in front of him, held the gas down and tab the clutch about an 1inch or 2 in and shift to 3rd....shoot dont know what happen to him for a min. probably left him 8 piece behide.

i dont usually get people to pulling up to me in their when i'm driving the S2K. Bikes on the other hand love to rev up and get spank. 3rd gear on the S is extremly fast once ur in the zone.

hey i race a some 02 S2000 and we were side by side intell i hit 4th and buy that time we both let off.
