Exclamation 2G CL-S vs 2G TL-S Transmissions any differences?

Ok I haven't posted here in a year or so plus. But I am now on tranny number 3. I am over spending cash out my a** to get it fixed every 2 years. So I found me a good tranny out of a wrecked 2003 TL-S. the case has a broken bolt. But my 01 CL-S has a good case just fried inside as usual.

The question is...... Are there any differences in the01 CL-S to the 03 TL-S??? And if there are any. What are they. Please help!!!!!

Thanks. And I'm just going to put the tranny in. Drive it for a month and sell it. I'm looking at an 05 TL six speed car. My cars at 201K so I'm ready to get something else.

But they bolt up identical? And what's the best advise for torque converter and tranny fluid?

Same transmission, I'm actually running a 2G TL-S transmission on my CL right now. Been holding up okay for 50k so far. The more reliable option is the 3G or Oddy trans of course.
As for ATF, I've just been using Honda Z1 or DW-1. But I do a 3x3 change on it every 2 years/30k miles. I'm actually about to do another one now but I'm starting to lean towards doing a drain/refill every oil change since I change out the oil every 8-10k and it would still keep me at the 2 year/30k interval. But I'm still up in the air on that one.

That's what I'm doing, just drain and refill every 4-6 months, I figure it's less of a change at once to the transmission also it's waaay quicker and simpler.

I've done 3 of them so far and I'm still on the same TL tranny since I boguth the car 50k miles ago. Maybe it's not that much of a change to the transmission.

Anyone knows the cost of getting a used TL 3rd generation transmission to replace a 2001 CL-S transmission. Is there a thread that covers this topic?

Some will but not all. Just get a 05-06 TL auto trans if your looking that route. And there are others that will work too, not just a TL.
