there is NO crumple zone on a bike, you ARE the crumple zone.

the moto gp bikes have hp ratings upwards of 200 @ the wheels...
in qualifying for the first race of the season yesterday, the new 4 stroke Hondas were clocked at speeds of 211MPH

I know a guy in South Africa with a GSX-R 1000 putting out just about 200HP at the wheels...

Doesn't Hondas new 5 cylinder racebike put out around 240hp on a tiny ass frame weighing next to nothing?

What a wild ride.

Cool bike, but an ugly bike. That Honda sounds interesting though.

I saw a Honda two-stroke 500cc race bike at Bike Week that weighed 295lbs and made 180hp !! They claimed a top speed of over 190mph ! Talk about handling and power........I could add a turbo to my bike for $4k and get 275rwhp, but I would never get down to 295lbs. There are guys in S. Florida running 227mph(gps checked) on turbo Busa's. They have to change-out all of the fairing fasteners so they don't blow apart.

It's a German Bike; it's really not ugly; the pic above doesn't do it justice. Anyway it's got a 2000cc 16 valve turbocharged engine so who cares what it looks like; most people will just see a blur anyway...

Badass bike but basically a suicide machine.

Between the Front fairing and the windscreen, you get downforce. I can tell you that above 180mph on my bike, the front feels lighter. I don't know if it's truly lifting or basic human instinct is kicking in telling me I'm f---ing crazy !! Bad ass bike videos here

1/4 mile on a stock Busa is mid 10's (any rider) mid to high 9's(good rider) at about 148-149mph. Turbo and modified Busa's are knocking on 7's, but I don't think they have made it yet. 0-60(stock) 3.5 sec. 0-100(stock) 5.2 sec. Busa'a love to pull.....HARD!!

0-60 in 3.5 sec. on a bike makes the porsche gt2 sound really impressive, I think in one mag it stated 0-60 in 3.7 sec.

0 to 60 on just about any sportbike, 600 cc and up, is in the low to mid 3 second range. Quarter mile times for just about all stock sportbikes range from low 10's to high 10's. Stock Busa's and ZX12's have come in the high 9's, but normal (read: non-magazine testers) would probably be in the very low 10's as well.

The 0-60 time for all of these bikes isn't traction limited, or horsepower limited; it's wheelie limited. If you put any more horsepower to rear tire, it's going over backwards. A 260 hp bike or even a 500 hp bike wouldn't really be much quicker up to sane speeds, but the rush from 100 mph - 150 mph would be pretty damn cool....

If you're allowed to put a wheelie bar on, along with a severely lengthened wheelbase, it really helps a bike on the dragstrip, much more than additional power.

I have a GSX-R 1000 putting out 156.5 HP to the wheel, and a little while ago, I acquired my friends 240HP Turbo Busa with a 4" extended swingarm and lowered suspension...
that bike is AWESOME...I mean my bike is fast, like really fast, but the turbo just comes on at 4k and carries thru to redline which is approached FAST in ANY gear...
240km/h wheelies were a BREEZE!
sick shit...too bad I can't ride for a year...
