2005 AWD RL coming soon.....

What I heard from my dealerhisp:

The 2005 RL will be out in July of this year, and it sounds like a wonderous car.

It is suppose to have AWD standard...I am wondering if it will be the AWD from the MDX.

And, it will have a 300hp V6, with an option for a hybrid gas/electric setup that has the same 300hp V6 and an electric motor that adds another 100 hp....so it will be a 400hp monster that gets 45 mpg.

He said he saw a picture of it and it is taking the edgy styling of the TL even further.

It really sounds exciting to me. Anybody have any information on the 2005 RL?

AS much as i would love to see it. I highly doubt that we will see a 400 horsepower RL. Where the hell will that leave an NSX.
Even though the NSX is faster, some idiots just look at horsepower. Do u think people are going to want to spend 80 grand on an nsx when the RL has more power.

Yeah, we bought a CL with MORE than the RL ? ! ? The RL is way over due for a bump anyway !

CL is SOHC 260 hp and NSX is DOHC 290 hp not that much different, so what is your point ?

Cool too bad it's an old mans car.

Infinity is doing it right with the 4wd G35. Soon I'm sure the G35c will be 4wd too.

I read in the latest motor trend or automobile (dont remember which) that the awd would not port over to the coupe. awd = sedan only.

that sucks, wonder why.

I assume it because there is a GT-R version of the skyline (G35) in the future.

I think the IMA is possible. Honda announced an IMA Accord is coming this year...and I think they also talked about another model that will be introduced later this year with it...and the new RL would fit that bill.

However, a 300+100 IMA won't be as powerful as a 400hp engine but it'd still be more powerful and faster than the base 300.

Any word on the price?

Oh, and by the way, I don't think the 300+ hp RL will effect NSX sales at all. Someone in the market for a super-coupe isn't going to buy a big luxury sedan just because it has more hp. If the buyer were only interested in hp, he wouldn't consider an NSX anyway. Besides, the NSX is being redesigned as well...you'll see well over 300hp there as well.

Acura sells like two NSXs a month, what does it matter?

I'll believe it when they show it, sounds like the dealer is just repeating information released for the dnx concept. 300hp v6, sure.

"The company's racing heritage and legendary engine technology is evident in the DN-X. The mid-engine, all-wheel-drive DN-X concept is equipped with a unique 400 horsepower hybrid powertrain that combines a high-output, 3.5-liter, DOHC, i-VTEC V-6 engine powering the rear wheels and an advanced electric Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system that provides additional power to all four wheels. Not only does this system provide outstanding performance, but also achieves an environmentally conscious 42 miles to the gallon."

Sounds like the DNX concept to me too. That's the first thing I thought of when I read the original post.

Sorry, but when it's actually released I'll believe it.. otherwise it just seems like another mis-informed sales rep.

Yeah, this summer I had a sales guy tell me that the NSX will be getting a V8 and the S2000 will come over to Acura. Most sales people don't know much more than we do.

I do believe the RL will be getting IMA very very soon though.
