2004 Pontiac GTO
I know it's a Pontiac, but I think it looks good. Hopefully GM is upping its standards.

But hopefully this car is more than just all engine. It's expected to be around $30K, so it better have a decent interior.

As for the car - basically a Holden HSV GTO.

Will be in the 330hp range and it is said that the gas-guzzler
tax will be in place for this one. Unlike its F-body and 'Vette brethren which have a 1-4 skip-shift to avoid the tax, according to Lutz, they aren't going to do that.

I wasn't too happy with the latest artistic rendition. Looks to much like a Grand Am or Grand Prix

Well see what happens. At least it's a move in the right direction.

Any people here who have been to Austrailia and driven a Holden care to comment on their interiors?? I suspect it will be different than the CL but possibly comparable in quality.

Sorry guys I have to quote mag times, the july motortrend has a review on the GTO and all i have to say is..... for the engine to be 330hp a 0-60 of only 6.5 sec REALLY SUCKS ASS! Don't flame me, i was just reading the most recent article on it, trying to find facts.

Got da Internet Goin Nutz
Pontiac...
My first car was a 1988 Pontiac Bonneville SSE. It had a body kit and all options. It was powerful as hell and the interior was excellent. Big leather seats up front, wood trim, etc. Pontiac can do a nice interior when it wants to and their engines hold up. The rest of the car is a whole nother story. My ABS system went out and I had to pay $1K for a master cylinder that didn't fix a damn thing. As much as I was at the dealership for service I saw way to many brand new pontiacs in for service. It was nice while I had, but I will never own a pontiac again! It barely had 100K on it when I had to throw it away.

BTW, the LS1 is a wonderful motor. Simple, powerful, fuel efficient (for it's size) and reliable. I am seriously considering the GTO. BTW, a friend of mine is from Australia and he has a Holden Commodore (4 door version of this car). He had pictures of the interior and it seemed that is was nicer than the usual GM crap we get here. Not Acura or BMW quality, but not bad at all.

I also think it looks like a grand am, LOL, GM has a way to go, they seem to still be brabbing from the parts bin and whipping out a car... But it's also not out yet, so this is only my presumption....
