Great car, but I will take a Z06 that is faster and keep 40k in my pocket, and use that to buy a TL/CL or something for a daily "beater" (if you can call them that)

NSX isn't about straight line speed. Not to say the Z06 isn't an amazing car, it handles the curves well too. But there is no difference in the Z06 interior than any other pos chevy. I don't think I would want the image that comes with a vette. The NSX is pricey....I'd take a GT3 over an NSX for the $$$ though.

The NSX is a little weak right now, However,,,, wait a few years! my friend is an Acura Service Manager, he said the NSX in a few years will have 380HP ++ V8, it will be crazy

As a former Z06 owner, I'm here to tell you that the Z06 absolutely owns the NSX on the track *and* the strip. There is no contest. The interior isn't up to par, but is it worth $40K for a better interior?

To me, sportscars are for preformance and the NSX lacks the numbers everywhere. It is too underpowered, and hadles no better than all of the other cars mentioned here.
I love Acura, always will, but they are not going in the right direction with the NSX...

NSX is gangsta.....it's about the hand built body and engine. The engine internals are balanced at the time of build by 1 man. It's about exclusivity. It's about the no fuss ownership. It's about 9k rev limit with an engine that sounds like an f1 engine. It's about the midengine RWD design that you don't get unless you purchase a porsche, ferrari etc., It's about an all aluminum frame. It's about the daily driveability. It's about direct relationship between f1 technology and the NSX. It's about alot of things that the 1/4 time doesn't always factor into. It's about having a car that is one of a kind. Corvette, 350z, porsches....all dime a dozen....they all look the same.
There is only ONE NSX......

I'd take the Z06 too.
The NSX needs more GO.
However the NSX is and exotic and the Z06 isn't.
EDIT: I agree with Zapata too.
I wouldn't put Porsche in that group though.
I'd take a 911 turbo ANYDAY over the NSX. No thought involved.

Actually only the engine is hand built by one person. But the same can be said about Ford (Cobra engines), and Porsche.
When you purchase a 911 new now, they give you a sheet that shows who did what on your car, and what day. All signed.
911 turbo is just as exotic.

$90K...fuck that. THe interior is not all that. In fact it blows for a car with this price tag. Its no better than the 300zxTT inside. IMO this is a 60-70K car at the most. The NSX has all this aluminum this and that, but yet its still heavy(barely lighter than the 350z). The only plus that I give the NSX is its durability and "virtually trouble free" status as far as exotics are concerned. Now the NSX-R, yes that's a 90K car, no doubt about it. Don't think I'm hating on the NSX, but I just can't see spending $90K, only to be able to say "Oh my car was hand built", or "This car is rare".

im sorry but being hand built does not equal a 40 THOUSAND DOLLAR upcharge over a car like the Z06 that is (somewhat) mass-produced and will slaughter the NSX in any type of competition known to man.
on a more equal price playing field, id say the new Dodge Viper has the NSX beat in every single comparative category or competition known to man as well (even though the Z06 already does this with ease) and there is no doubt, owning a viper is much more exclusive than an NSX. any chump can go pick up a 92-94 NSX in good shape for less than 30k and tell his freinds its a 2000.

I can do the same with a vette. lol.........please....stick with the cheap plastic, mass produced, dime a dozen vettes and variants.
viper is no where near as exclusive as the NSX....

how could you possibly say with any degree of honesty that the Viper isnt as exclusive than an NSX (let alone MORE exclusive)??
the Viper has more than double the power of an NSX
the Viper will out-power and out-handle an NSX in any performance test under the sun.
the Viper (especially the newest body style) is much better looking than the VERY dated (but admittedly, still stylish) NSX that has needed an overhaul for 5+ years now.
The NSX (as i already have pointed out) can be had for less than 30,000 dollars and it will look identical to a 2000-2002 model year NSX (with some very very minor details that can me upgraded similar to CL-S owners upgrading to 03 taillights)
the Viper is produced in very low production numbers to maintain exclusivity (LOWER production numbers than the NSX in fact)
the Viper is a much rarer occurance to see on the road than an NSX. (hell, even in milwaukee, theres quite a few NSX's and VERY few Vipers, even older vipers are rare)
the Viper is far from "cheap plastic, mass produced, dime a dozen" the amount of R&D and engineering that went into the viper, and the new gen viper easily equal or surpass all the R&D that went into the NSX almost 15 years ago. Honda has been too lazy to do anything to it besides lose the pop-up headlights and tweak 20 more HP...big deal.
i would LOVE to see some type of example of how the NSX is a better car or more exclusive car than a Viper. and i dont want to hear the "hand made" BS.
please, enlighten me.

The NSX has been out a whole lot longer than the Viper so numerically there are more of them than the Viper, this does not make it any more or less exotic though.
The new Viper is selling for more than a new NSX right now....the price of the Viper has consistantly gone up while the NSX has maintained it's price position since 1997.
The NSX isn't about raw horsepower, 1\4 mile times, etc.... It's about a well balanced sports car built to Honda ideals. The reliability, revability, smoothness and quality we have come to expect from a Honda \ Acura product.
The NSX is very long in the tooth though, but it has a tough life as a low sales volume halo car. It needs a supercharger to compete in serious racing, but the balance and lightness of the car keep it competitive. More horsepower does not always equal more speed if you can't get the power down.
