2003 CL-S Low Beam Problem
I blew the 20 amp fuse for the left front HID headlight (low-beam).
I put in a new fuse and that one blew as soon as I turned on the headlights.
I put in a new D2R Bulb (stock Honda Part) and the 20 amp fuse still blows when I turn on the lights.
Any ideas what the problem could be??

Sounds to me like its shorting out somewhere. Not sure where - I haven't had that problem.. I would take it to the dealer (since its under warranty) and have them fix the problem.

definetly warranty issue. save yourself the time trying to hunt down the short circuit.
it may be something that's not even related to the headlight that's causing the short, maybe a crossed wire somewhere, who knows.

OK...if ur car was never hit in the front and all the wiring was never touched w/ then that could almost positively cancel out a short. To things that I have seen...one the relay could be shorted...swap the left and right side headlight relays. If the problem switches sides then u know it's the relay. If not then it's most likely the headlight HID invertor/unit. it mounts under the headlight assy itself and is very expensive. HOWEVER....if ur in warranty, go get it fixed. it shouldn't take any more than 10 minutes to fully diag the system.

All the problems aside, I am amazed at how Acura could afford to put in HID's in a 30k-dollar car. I love it!! I'm the only one in my car crew with HID's, and everyone's always like, "man, I need HID's like yours." Bright enough to light up the entire road, but not too bright to a point that it bothers other drivers. I love it!

Thanks for all your info:
Denville (NJ) Acura replaced the inverter (part A33144-83M-A01). They also put in a new D2R Bulb. I pointed out to the mechanic that did the work that I had moisture in both of my headlight units and they also replaced the right and left headlight units. They did a great job. Very friendly and they got the entire job done in about one hour (including dropping the front bumper to put in the two headlight units). It was all covered under the warranty. Also, I was supprised that they did not disconnect the battery when they replaced the inverter and swithed the lights. I guess you don't have to worry about that 25,000 volt (that could kill) warning on the outside mounting for the D2R Bulbs.
Thanks again

Noticed the identical problem tonight - left low beam lamp does not light, and my car has only 13K miles on it with little night time driving. Since my car is under warranty, I'll take it to the dealer Tuesday. Knowing how expensive everything is to fix this car, looks like I'll be getting an extened warranty.
