2003 Acura CL TYPE-S 6-speed

I can't believe the bullsh*t..... These Acura dealers in Pennsylvania are bogus. These fellows are only willing to drop Destination charges of 550 on the car...Other than that they won't move off of MSRP.... Well the obvious is that the car is too damn new. But for goodness sakes they think I am going to pay them 3000 more for a car that they don't have or can't find till I lay down 500. I don't see how these fools sell any cars.. There are no incentives, no deals, no love. Extremely frustrating... Listen to this one.... 36 month lease 1000 down, 599 a month 12K miles per year allowed.....lol... that is the quote I got this morning...lol... NO WAY.... to buy the car my payments would be 660 a month... unless I wipe out the savings and dump money down on the buggie.... with Navi I got a buy price for 32,200. It is a sweet ride.. I test drove it twice and barked third gear. The car rocks like no other I ever drove. I just might wait a year. I dunno... everyone is telling me to buy used.... What do you guys and gals think?

my experinces have been the same at the local acura dealers. 4 years ago when the TL was new, they had one on the lot and it was sold. i was allowed to look at it and then they tried to get me to buy one. i bought an A4. 2 years ago i was looking again and pretty much the same thing. nothing on the lot to test drive except for a sold one. but this time they let me drive it around the block - literally. that was it. and again they tried to get me to buy one site unseen and undriven for that matter. i bought a Passat instead.

i need to take a drive south to pittsburgh. i'm hoping that there will be more stock on the lots down there so i can sit in one for more than 5 #$%@! minutes. i really want the 6-speed, too, but i agree, new model or not, screw 'em. i'll wait!

There are some discounts on the 03 out there. I have seen $500-$1000 off MSRP. It seems that if you get dealer options they with cut you a better break on them.

Yeah, but the dealers and fleet managers aren't budging on this one.... I spoke with them all.... I walked in the door and went straight for the sales manager with cash 32K + a check for the tax (I had a plate in my hand)... I said to him Acura CL Type-S 6 speed. Satin Silver with Ebony Leather and a NAVI system.. take it or leave it..... He said 32K won't cover the price of the car because it is a hot car and everyone wants one. I told him that it was his loss. I then proceeded to 2 other dealerships and did the same thing.... Not one taker on the offer.... it blows my mind. I want this buggie, but I just might have to slide out of state for it. I dunno... This is still so freaking frustrating... Waiting in PA... and starting to turn my nose up at CL

Where are you at in PA?
I got about 700 off my car from Lehigh Valley Acura in Allentown.
Granted, most of that was in options and they probably wouldn’t do that much on a “stripper”.

You’ve got to remember, they’re only building 2,700 of these and they are selling quite well.

Soopa says his dealer up in New York had like TEN 2003’s in stock and a few were stick.
Give them a call and go buy one of those.
It’s only a few hours drive.

I am in Pittsburgh PA... I went to Monroville, Wexford and Greensburg... I really did not venture too far East out in PA... But let me ask this..... what are you guys paying for your rides?... Are you fronting up a trade in?... money down?... What was your total buy price on the car...??... if you don't think that is too nosey of a question... I just want to get a feel for where I need to be if I roll out of state.....

I paid $29,800 (before tax & license) non-navi, with splash guards and wheel locks (gotto go back for splash guard install). I think they've mostly been going close to MRSP, or maybe $500 off.

My car has the NAVI and the following options:
Rear spoiler
Gold Emblems
Gold inner Grill
Gold “Type-S” emblem
Splashguards

Including the 480 delivery charge, I paid 33,500 before taxes.
I think that comes to about 700 off what it adds up to on the Acura Website.
Tax was only 570 because I had a high trade value (24,000) and in PA you don’t have to pay tax on that.

Wait till September and these guys will be begging you to get it under invoice. Losers. Dont they see the sales numbers of the CL? Spell it for them next time.

THE CLS SALES ARE GOING DOWN LOSERS. WAKE UP!

You are supposed to be trying to sell this car not give people a hard time.

Pisses me off...

Only one big problem.... I got the new buggie itch.... I hope i can hold out till the end of September... I heard that if I go on the last Friday or Saturday of the month I will get a better deal than I would if I went say in the beginning of the month..... They need to close deals/ make a quota so they bargain with you.... Shaving off 100 dollars ain't even worth the hassel.... I will try to hold out till the end of this month and run in there again and lay 31K total on the table.. take it or leave it.... I will find a taker sooner or later..lol.... probably later.... But hey thanks guys for the insight I appreciate the advise and postive feedback... Smitty

Smitty, i see your frustration but they are a business and will only get a limited number of the 6 speeds, so they're gonna hold out. Try getting a deal on an MDX It was the same with VW on Beetles, with Chrysler and the PT Cruiser, Ford on the new T-Bird etc. They have more demand than inventory, it's simple and you'd hold out too. Good luck finding one.
