2003 Accord Coupe
Today's edition of Automotive News publishes two spy shots of the new Accord Coupe. The caption reads, "Honda over the years has been uncannily successful at keeping its redesigned models under wraps, often until the day it starts shipping vehicles. Not this time. Picture here is the redesigned 2003 Accord coupe, snapped nearly 2.5 months before the vehicle is supposed to go public." Go to www.automotivenews.com and you can see a very small snapshot of the front page, with the picture of the car. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner or I would post them myself. You can also go to a newsstand and look at a copy.
It looks terrific, and is much more stylized than the previous generation. The back somewhat resembles a Mercedes (slightly) and the front is aggressive with larger headlights than you would expect for an Accord. All in all I like.

Honda dealers reps are posting on the www.v6accord.com that they have color chart and ordering info for the the factory trims and options.

this is definately a bad thing for us CL-S owners...not only are these rumors possibly true about 250 HP and a 6 speed, but look at that pic!! the back and side look JUST like our CL-S!! our cars are going to depreciate faster than a Ford Festiva once that car comes out...this new high performance, redesigned accord coupe is a nightmare for us...its still really hard to beleive that honda would bite itself in the ass by making the accord just as powerful and VERY similar looking than the acura CL-S...that seems like a really poor desicion if they have any hope for the future of acura...

They better have a good plan for the CL a total redesign I bet. So I think this is bad news for people who were going to keep their cars for while.

I’m keeping mine for quite a few years, so resale value right now means NOTHING to me.
Car’s are like PC’s.
You’re only going to have top of the line for a few months at best.

I also have to disagree! Where are the horsepower/torque numbers. It might not be true for hp gains. If one of the major changes were to be hp/tq, don't you think THAT would be KNOWN now instead of rumors. When the cl was getting a facelift back in 1999 most of talk was about the new engine and hp. I have yet to see anywhere for hp gains. FURTHERMORE, motortrend showed a pic a while ago back, and said nothing of hp gains.

personally, I think (from that pic) it is Damn UGLY
Look at the roll on the front fenders and then the rear one's look more in flush
I don't like the line on it AT ALL...

Thats what we waited to see????????? That ish is terrible. It looks like a new sebring with benz tailights. I sure as hell hope it looks better than that . If thats the future for honda then acura is gonna be next on the shit design list.

damn, that full size pic just solidifies it..look at that thing, it looks a hell of alot like our CL-S...look at the design of the headlights and the grill, and the tailligt shape...how sad...if anything it looks like what the next gen CL would look like...is honda going to phase out the Acura name??? i mean with all the upgrades that will be available on that thing...i.e. navi, fancy interior, 6 cd changer, bose sound system, 250 hp, 6 speed....looks like Acura may become a name of the past like over in japan where Acura never existed....our cars are going to be worth jack shit in a few years, thats sad to say, but very very true....who the hell will want an 01-03 CL-S in 2-3 years when they can just get an equally powerful and equally equipped brand new accord?

It looks like the rear end of a 2k3 SL500 and the front of a Chrysler Sebring (as mentioned) ...
Honda has been hitting the hash pipe big time if they think this is a good idea.

after seeing that pic i am more happy with my cls purchase.............i still dont see a 250hp accord........probably more like 220............that pic looks like a cougar,sebring.c230benz, and a solara all thrown in a blender ...................nothing to worry about on the cl front........honda isnt ofeering all the options previously mentioned........ie mp3 players.....lx,ex, exvl etc..........no option packages
