2002 tranny better than 2001???
It seems that most people on this website who have problems with the tranny own the 2001 model...is the 2002 model different in any way? im really really in love with this car (test drove it today) and im ready to buy or lease, i just hesitate because of all this bad tranny talk..the dealer said that its been fixed this year...but im not sure im ready to take his word...i love this car but i dont want to deal with frequent mechanical problems just to have a really nice car...the dealer said that 2002 model year cars have a different torque converter and it solves the problem...hmmmm
I was in the same situation as you. Sat on the fence forever, until I said, "screw this"
Bought my 2001 CL-S but also made sure that I got the extended warranty. So far, my average is 2 years before I wind up trading my cars. But with the extended, I will wind up having it for 5 years (approx) and thne trade it. Just right..
If you get the car, do not pay more than $1,000 on the extended. IMO.
