I still think that this car needs more power. I know the numbers look good but while-in-motion acceleration is probably worse than the competition. Plus dont forget that this 6.6 sec run is achieved with a manual which means that the auto is probably a second slower.

I like the specs including the manual trans option, but I don’t want a 4-Door FORD in my garage.

No it’s not........MB owns Chrysler and FORD owns JAG.

Well, I guess it's like calling an Acura a Honda. I mean, come on. It's a Jaguar, deal with it. It shares some parts with the euro-only Ford Mondeo, but the S-Type shares a few parts with the Lincoln LS and I wouldn't go around calling that car a Ford. It's sweet.

I hated the Accord, but loved the CL-S. They're completely different cars. I certainly don't look at an NSX and consider it "just a Honda".

Also, in terms of ownership, let's see:
Ford owns Jaguar, Aston Martin, Volvo, half of Mazda.
GM owns Saab and a ton of other stuff.
Daimler owns Chrysler (it was a buyout, not a merger), half of Mitsubishi, among other things.
VW owns Audi who own Lamborghini.

The list goes on...

Just because cars share ownership and a few parts doesn't make them comparable...

I think it's great that Ford's encouraging Jaguar to help broaden the market for it's cars. A good friend of mine is an engineer at Jaguar and spent the last several years on loan from England working on engine designs here in the US. Much of his work is in the V6 in the S-Type and X-Type. Wait till you guys see the new roadster they're working on. The production version is sweet.

End of rant.
