2002 CL-S
AMH Company does this to reduce the chance that buyers will hold off before buying a 02 model. Its very typical of Honda not to release info. Basic marketing tactic.
C'mon if you knew all the stuff for '02 coming out, you'd probably hold off buying a CL until the 02 model because of the improvements or changes.

Second, there might not even be a SS in the next model. This is due to the fact that it might come with a 6 Speed trans. and then there would be know use for a SS. No one is really sure if AHM or acura R&D is developing the next model with this "awesome" feature.
I guess all i can really say is to do "logical" trial and error, just do what YOU think is good when trying it out. Also read the post from that one poster that found this "trick". Hope this helps.
Oh one more thing hope for a 6 speed next year

First, the SS does incorporate 1st and 2nd, 2nd more then 1st but they do work. i have gotton my 1st gear to 3000,4000 before shifting. As for my 2nd i have gotten 4000-5000 right before redline on some runs. Do a search for "SS in 1st gear" or go back 5-10 days cuz i saw a post on here about 1 week ago from someone that got to 1st gear with some "trick" they did. I remember that " it scares the s*** out of you" at least that is what they said.

SS definately isn't going anywhere. If the 6-speed is released in the '02 (which looks less and less likely), it will be optional. The SS with the auto will still be the standard configuration....
