2001 CL Type S Nav...25k miles
Was looking for a simple second car to use for my daily 12 mile commute. Almost couldn't believe my eyes when this popped up on Autotrader. Original owner traded in 2013 to the dealer they bought it from with 23k miles. 2nd owner had dealer do 100k service at purchase and put new tires and battery in. Kept it in garage as third car until selling to raise money for kids private school. Had all service slips including tyranny check and install of extra tyranny oil feed per factory inspection. No other issues. Acura dealer checked it out for me and all they could find was front struts binding so worked that into the deal. Pictures tell the story.
Never paid much attention to this car in 2001 and still see a few on the road but none in this condition. Love the color. This body style has aged well.

thanks. I actually ditched the Isimple and installed a new Pioneer head unit for Bluetooth phone, front panel AUX for Sirius and a ControlPro for steering wheel control. Stereo and Nav have changed but the car and performance are still up to date.

Wow. No thanks. $6000 max for that car. $6200 is top book value for private sale there so the dealer threw on another 65% on top of what they paid for it. It's still a 15 year old car regardless of mileage.
Low miles aren't always a good thing. Means the car has sat for a long time. That means rubber seals everywhere have begun to break down. Oil and other leaks will be far more common.

I buy my cars with high mileage because of that very reason. 9 of my families 11 Hondas have over 300k on them. My 03 TLS hit 347k last week and its my daily. Absolutely zero issues.
I have seen so many low mileage cars that are simply overpriced because they think low mileage is better when in reality you are likely to get a car with major problems after awhile. Also as TheWeez mentioned it meant the car sat for an extended amount of time most likely due to a serious breakdown or problem. A high mileage car most likely has not had major issues or when it did they were fixed immediately.
Imo a low mileage car is worth less than a car with high miles but thats me. Not belittling op purchase but thats another side to the story. Happy driving!

^i dont think there was major problems to the car and that's why it sat....if it had problems, there's a HIGH CHANCE that he would have passed this car up.
i think it was just sitting in a garage somewhere...like my acura...
i havent moved my TL in 2 years. it's a 2006 6MT with 70k miles.
not because im trying to save it...but because it doesnt need to be moved right now.
the one thing i do agree on is that it's a little over priced. but hey, if the OP feels like he paid a fair price for a pristine car,

Not surprised at your comment and respect where you're coming from. In this case I'd offer the following thoughts:
1. I know detailed history of car...from owners to single dealer who did all the service. The car was driven every week during its first 12 years of life...just not for long distances. All maintenance was completed during that period of time on the time, now mileage interval and car was always garaged.
2. Second owner is an Acura aficionado who bought from the original selling dealer where the car was purchased and serviced. All belts, hoses, water pump, etc were replaced as well as all items on the 10 year, 120,000 mile service interval, whether it needed it or not, including new tires, brakes and battery.
3. On the rack the entire chassis of the car was spotless...and since I bought it remains so. No leaks of any kind. All fluids like new...even interior of the radiator like new.
4. I purchased car directly from second owner and had paid the Acura dealer second owner had service the car to go over it top to bottom. Only thing they could find is the front struts were binding so seller had Acura replace them with Acura OEM.
Risk of failure...absolutely, but given its history I'm betting not. Its my daily driver on my 12 mile commute and at least once a week its up on the interstate for 20-40 miles at freeway speeds. Oil changes will continue to every 3,000 miles and tranny 3x3 every year regardless of mileage.
Finally, as to price. My intention was to spend a max of $10k for a daily work commuter. Go look in your local paper or Autotrader and see what you can buy. For me this car was a bargain. Even if I had to put $5,000 in it...which I highly doubt...I'd still have less invested than if I'd bought a used car with far more miles, a lot less love...and a lot less fun to drive. If car values were determined only by the book Barrett Jackson auctions would be going off at far lower prices.
I'm a newcomer to Acura but I can tell from posts on this board that most any of you would have jumped on this one if you'd had a chance to see and drive it.
