2001 CL-S at Auction

Just wanted to chime in on something interesting I saw today. My father is a car dealer here in Oregon and on Tuesdays we often take a load of vehicles to the dealer auction in Portland. So today I spotted a 2001 3.2 CL-S Auto, SSM on Black, nice 18" MOMO wheels, drilled rotors, shaved, 109k, AEM intake, really overall a very clean car. Brought $8300 and sold with a seller guarantee. Seems like really good money to me considering the poor resale value of our cars.

Our car's resale value is shit compared to what you get for the $$. Seller is lucky to get 8300 for it, especially at an auction. I've seen a few 01 CL-S go at the auctions for at or under 5K with less than 100K miles

I know I was really shocked that it brought that kind of money, personally I thought I was going to be able to get it cheep and snake the rims and break kit off of it, but oh well. I saw the same car at a local dealership online they are asking like $9500, way over KBB.

this is what happens when a car is not reliable (auto trans problems) they take a hit even though Acura gives 100+K warranty on it

Must be a regional thing cause that car is not worth that much $ at an auction. I've seen a few on auctions that don't fetch more then $7K.
