2001 Acura 3.2 CL Seat Problem

Hey guys what's going on..My brother is having a problem with his seat so I thought I would come to you guys on the forum and see if you could offer some assistance..My brothers seat won't go back and won't recline back when using either of the 2 switches on the side...He has no idea what it could be...It will go forward I think but not backwards to a certain point...Could it be his seat motor or something..?..I tried checking the Acura site and didn't even find a replacement motor for it or anything..Please feel free to post what you think the problem is..Any help would be great..Thanks..

If seat slide forward, then i think the motor is fine. Might be a bad circuit with the switch to the back?

I'm not sure but I think it did..I think it slid back and forth but the recline motion wouldn't go back..Do you know what that could be..?

The reclining adjuster is binding. I had the same problem with my seat. I replaced the reclining adjuster mechanism but that involves removing the seat and pretty much removing the leather upholstery to get to the recliner adjuster. A real pain
After everything was assembled and seat reinstalled (70 lbs) everything was back to normal Part number is 81630-S3M-A61 and retails for $281.34.....

Yeah, pretty much close to that......Stealerships are always expensive Taking that seat apart, replacing the part and assembling it can be laborious......

I talked to the Acura parts guy and he said that it is a known problem (that's why they keep weird part like the "reclining adjustor" in stock. Parts that need to be ordered are usually parts that don't give much trouble) You really don't want to jury rig a main part like that (not that you will) because it's the "backbone" of the seat. If you get into an accident, you want that seat to be stable so it can protect you and not collapse. Yeah, 600 bux is expensive, but I think your brother is worth waaaaaaay more than that...... Just my
