Just on my way to work this morning at around 5:40am.. and as usual i average 80-90km/hr on SW marine.. 3 lane road w/ a speed limit of 55-60. Everyone normally cruises around 70-80.. it's normal.
So i'm just cruising casually sip'n my coffee when a dark blue late model (not sure what year but looks fairly new) Ford explorer comes roaring down past me. I think nothing of it as gas here is still fairly expensive and Cl's take premium :sqntfawk: . I decide to pace with this guy for a bit and see anyone pissed into his cornflakes this morning. After 2 red lights and 2 WOT take offs, I know he's willing to play.
3rd red light and i'm on the line with him to his right. No wheel spin just easing off the clutch got a 1 car length after 1st, 3 cars after 2nd, and 7-8 cars at the top of 3rd, by now i'm reaching speeds of 140km/hr.. so i let it off. Now he decides to ride my rear bumper then fly by me to let me know that his 4x4 really does own the road
. He pulls into a gas station and that's the end of him.
Now during all this time i notice a VW pacing with us. As i approach another light, he pulls up next to me and it appears to be one of those white dudes who think they're asian cuz he's got the "middle" chinese character onthe side of his car. What's with these guys anyways? I"m not sure if he wants to play since he wasnt really racing, but just pacing so i start out as normal. Suddenly he must have had diahrea cuz he guns it out of the blue and i follow suit. By the 60 ft mark he must have had me by about 3-4 car lengths and then by the top of 2nd going into 3rd, i passed him with ease - noting that it's a 1.8TEEE. Again i let it up after i put a few bus lengths - and instead of acknowledging defeat, he decides to gun it past me at 140+ ... i take my exit to work with 2 more simple frags under my belt...

Which other countries, besides the U.S., do not use the metric system?
According to a survey taken several years ago, the only other countries that have not officially adopted the metric system are Liberia (in western Africa) and Myanmar (also known as Burma, in southeast Asia). These two countries did not have an official policy of converting to metric, at least at the time of the survey. Most other countries have either used the metric system for many years, or have adopted the metric system within the last 30 years.

Yeah yeah I know all aboot it.
Just messing with ya. Our system sucks. Metrics much better.
Its still funny though. I have no idea how fast you were going in that story.
And yes I know the conversion ratios...but just offhand I don't know if 140 is fast or what.

fuck the metric system, the USA will never give up the customary system. metric may be easier to convert and simpler, but when you have hundreds of years of history, BILLIONS or TRILLIONS of dollars at stake (replacing all road signs, maps, thermometers, etc, etc, etc) it will never happen.
