2 kills yesterday

I had 2 kills yesterday:

1. Played w/ a Masarati Quattroporte (2 't's ??). A distinguished looking guy and his wife. I drove by them going just barely over the speed limit. As I went by I looked in my rear and side mirrors and noticed he pointed at my car and said something to his wife. I was probaby 5-6 car lengths in front and noticed his speed increased to catch up to me. I started to get a woody at this point. I slowed a little and we matched speeds. I downshifted and was holding 2nd gear at about 50mph w/ the car just screaming for me to shift up to 3rd. I saw the Masa lurch forward and I dropped the hammer. A very quick shift up to 3rd and I started to promptly pull and put some distance btwn us. He cut out at about 80 and I was a good 2-3 lengths ahead. I slowed and both of them were laughing. I gave them a thumbs-up but I'm sure my 20% tint was too dark.

2. Demolished a C5 convertable Vette w/ 2 chicks. I was on my way to Fry's Electronics and I came up on the Vette (did I mention it had 2 chicks) and noticed it had "AS-IS' stickers on the window. I passed them slowly at about 65mph in 3rd gear. About 2-3 lengths in front of them I decided to egg them on by slowing and then speeding and then slowing, and so on... I saw them laughing and the driver shook her head to say 'no'. Well, about 1/2 mile later I see her coming up on me really fast. Obviously, she had changed her mind. She had a ton of momentum on me but I waited until she was about 3 lengths behind me b/f flooring the whine pedal. She passed me and put about 1 length on me b/f I matched speed and proceeded to put a few lengths on her. I slowed down and rolled down my window. We gave each other thumbs up and did 2 more little races. Each time I let her go first and then I'd reel her in and pass her quickly. I ended up getting into traffic down the road and they went on ahead in the HOV lane. I eventually got to the electronics store and when I stepped out of my car I heard this voice behind me. It was the Vette girls and she yelled 'first you beat me and then you steal my parking spot.' I went over and the driver was telling me how awesome my car was and, of course, I complimented her right back. I had to finally admit that I wasn't stock. She said she had fun and we parted ways. Why didn't this stuff ever happen to me when I was single? Oh wait, now I remember why - I was poor.

Sounds like you're getting good use out of the S/C.

BTW, did you ever get a dyno for the beast running the S/C?

I haven't gotten a dyno yet. I'm having a new 2nd PCM shipped to me w/ a new tune. I'll take it to a dyno w/ the current tune and then swap in the new one to see a b/f and after on the dyno on the same day. Gains of 40whp/40wtq are typical w/ the new tune.

that quattroporte just looks fat and heavy. what a way to waste money just to buy a brand. the better of the two sedans one. have you gone up against a pre-'06 M5 yet? that would really be a kill to brag and be proud of.

The silver thing in the middle just under the LS6 label is a Magnuson supercharger. Other than that, just exhaust. That other box controls the voltage to the fuel pump.

I'm trying to kill these F1 runflats (245's all around) so I can get new GSD3 (275's in back) tires b/f my track event at the end of April. Should make 1st gear more useful.

With your HP, killing those runflats should only take you a couple of full throttle launches. I always love seeing a good tire smoking video (hint - hint...)

I've been running with a set of GSD3's. Very sticky for a street tire and very good in the wet. They're also quieter and provide a better ride than the OEM's (Bridgestone Potenza RE040's)

Seattle Cl-S, everytime I read your posts I think "A CL-S can beat THAT?" and have a look on my face.

Then I see your sig and remember that you traded her in for a CTS-V!

BTW, I was at the Caddy dealer the other day and noticed an STS-V with a 469hp blown 4.4L NorthStar V8 in it. STOCK! Dear lord!

A blown CLS isn't a lightweight either! Allout and I had a little race and I was BARELY pulling on him when I only had an exhaust. He's got a blown 6-spd.

The STS-V is a pretty nice car as well. Much nicer interior. The CTS interior pretty much sux. The STS weighs a little more and doesn't handle quite as well but, then again, I don't think it's looking for the same type of buyer. It is geared more for those that would consider an E55 but wanted to save $20k. The E55 will literally WALK any 'V' out there (stock, that is) in a straight line. The CTS-V has a better chance of beating it in some twisties.

Love to read about the Cl kills and could care less about Caddies. Wonder what kind of gas mileage he is getting on it...

I have a G35 coupe also but only make posts when it relates to my CLs.

Well, funny thing that I read this today. I finally got my Acura back from the body shop (Afterseveral months of work! And I still have to take it back...), and i haven't done anything to the car except some body work and an Injen air filter. Oh yeah, I also have 19's... Anyways I'll take some pics for you gusy to see later, but back to my point. I was in a race last night with one of my friends A4 1.8, yeah the cars are a little quick, but with my 3.0 CL stock except the intake, I smoked him several times, so there is no question a Type -S will eat that little car for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and can probably beat it going backwards......

I do… check this out; I was merging onto the freeway (880 S, northern Cali) on my way to work when all of a sudden there they were hundreds of cars ALL looking like they wanted to race. So I catch up to them in my CL-S6 like the racer I am, looked over at them dropped it into 3rd and guess what… I was gone !!! Weaving in and out of traffic at 140 mph for 20 miles, boy was that fun!!! I think I had about 300 “kills” this morning driving to work… I’m very proud of myself.

Seattle CLS still participates in Acura events and traveled from Seattle to Medford Oregon to join us for WCM4 this last October. I ran head to head against this CTS-V at that time and I enjoy seeing the progress of his build.

Keep the stories coming Tom.
