196 Miles @ Half Tank
I am very happy that i finally get 196 miles @ Half tank today. However it is 90% freeway. Is it even possible to get that in local or half local and half freeway?

depends what mods you have, gas you use, how you maintain your car and most importantly how you drive. if you vtec all the time, your literaly watch the guage drop. if you cruise, coast and brake slow and accel slow then your gonna get pretty good mileage in the city. i accel below 3k 95 percent of the time. make sure your filter is clean, tires are inflated, use good gas and/or fuel cleaner and use proper viscosity of oil, and change your plugs if need be. if you have wider tires or extra sticky ones, thay may create road friction. clean your trunk, more weight means more power is needed to move your car. also try to stay around 60-70 on the freeway. i heard every 10 mph past that is 15 percent lower fuel economy. and use cruise control on long trips. hope this helps! i get about 25mpg mixed with drop in filter, resonator removal, 5w-20 oil but also subs and rims.

im stock with a k&n filter and ive gotten 129 at a quarter, but that was poking around like grandma. after i said screw it and just drove normally. and that was with premium fuel..

half a tank is about 200miles for me in mixed driving if I drive all freeway it is close to 260. I can go 500 miles 15.6 gals of gas driving 72mph

thats about what I get, maybe a little less. Alls I know is that when I did my first mod - CAI, dear lord I was amazed/delighted with what it did to my gas mileage...almost as happy as the sound made me

Figuring gas consumption based on 1/2 or 1/4 of a tank makes no sense. You are not getting any usable information. Run through a tank of gas and get the miles per GALLON, not miles per half tank. This is data you can use

I'm making a trip down to VA TECH this weekend and i'll see what happens with mine. With a full truck full of stuff I think it should still be decent.
I usually get about 150 miles at 1/2 tank with 60% city driving.

DAMN, I only get between 200-250 to a full tank no matter how I drive. How the hell are you guys getting that many miles? Maybe we have poor gas down here in Florida? I always use 93 octane at shell or racetrack..oh well, maybe my car is messed up

I get ~350 a tank...but there's usually a couple gallons in there when I fill it up. Remember, the light comes on with 3 gallons left.

I usually get shitty mileage, but this last fill up I purposefully stayed out of vtec and tried to shift at or around 2K just to see what kind of mileage I would get. I got 340 miles before the gas light came on with mixed city/hwy driving (mostly city).

Im not sure what i get to the tank... I try and squeeze 180 miles by the halfway mark, sometimes i do and sometimes its a little under --- but i always check my mileage at every fillup 21.5-22.5 pretty consistently and semi spirited driving -
the lowest i ever got was 19.xx
the highest i ever got was 29.xx mpg on a not so long highway trip - maybe 150-175 miles round trip - but i was cruising at about 70-75 with the AC on so it was a good feeling.

I drove from Jersey down to Rocky Mountain, NC two weekends ago. i filled up at SUNCO (7 miles before delaware Water Gap) with their Ultra 93. There were 3 people in the car a trunk full of stuff, and traveling at an average about 85mph. I average about 25-27 mpg. Coming home, only 2 people, less junk in the trunk and average about 60-70mph due to traffic. My MPG was alot less using shell and some other generic gas. I decided just to stick with SUNCO's ULTRA 93. My car runs 10x better

True.
This could lead to one issue though if the person attempting this measure forgets to put half a gallon in a portable tank in their trunk

Just got back from a road trip to Nashville to check out the Titans/Raiders game (340 miles roundtrip from Louisville, KY to Nashville, TN) and averaged 27.06 MPG!! Reset the odo at 0 and ended up at 405.9 miles before I filled up w/ exactly 15 gallons. Other than 50 miles of city driving, the rest was strictly hwy w/ no AC, averaging 85mph the whole way. This is awesome for me considering I usually get 260-280 before the gas light comes on w/ mixed city/hwy driving (lot's of which is in VTEC). Just goes to show that staying out of VTEC and stop and go traffic will net you some decent MPG.

W/ automatic in 5th gear if I'm cruising around 2000 rpms, my speed is about 73ish. By the time i get up to 80 I'm around 2300-2500. Of course thats cruising, if I stay in top gear and push the throttle at either of these points, the rpms will raise for better acceleration.

TQ > MPG
I just set a new personal record, 455 miles on a tank, which only needed 14.45 gallons to fill it back up, which equates to 31.5mpg. I ALWAYS top it off to 3 clicks at the same gas station, so I know its accurate.
All expressway, most of it with the cruise on 70-80mph. I had just cleaned the air filter too, it was pretty nasty.
On that tank I was a tick past half tank when I hit 300 miles. I ALWAYS get 200 miles before 1/ tank, even in city driving. And I have almost never had the fuel light come on before I hot 300 miles.
