19,000KM service...

Hey guys,

I think there was a post where someone had a chart of what to do at certain mileage intervals instead of going for the traditional dealer service since they're quite pricey.

I'm coming up to my 19,000 KM service.. (3rd one, 1st@6000, 2nd@12000) and i'm wondering what are the main things that needs to be done so i can bypass their traditional full service cuz it's quite pricey if i do the whole thing. 19,000km = 13,000miles???

thanks,

I changed my transmission fluid at 15k. It was dark and brown.
I suggest checking your tire threads and maybe rotating them. Have dealer check tensioner. Do all your oil changes yourself if you can. Now will be a good time to consider switching to Mobil One 5w-30 synthetic, or Amsoil 5-w30 if you haven't already done so. Recondition the leather seats and add a coat of zaino.

Is it that much better with the synthetic? Can the dealer or the service shop supply these?

Dealer probably wont use anything other than Honda brand oil.
Synthetic protects the engine better than regular oil IMO.
I suppose you can buy Mobil One at Walmart and have them change it for you. With synthetic, the oil change intervals are longer.
