18"x7.5" w/ 42mm offset on '03 TL-S

As the title reads, 18"x7.5" Racing Hart S7 with 42mm offset. Would it fit on an '03 TL Type-S?

According to the tire offset calculator, clearance between the strut housing and the inside of the wheel will be the same. However, the outside of the wheel will extend 26mm.

Is this going to work??

What tire size? 235, or 225. I know with 235's, you will rub a little on some bumps. If your lowered. You could roll the fenders & that would fix it. If your not lowered then you will be fine.

That size is WAY wrong.
Too narrow for the tread and too low for the profile.

For 18's it should be 225/40 or 235/40

If you want to go 215 wide it should be a 45-profile

Oops, my bad. It was 215/40/18, not 215/35/18.

Do you think it will rub? I don't have passengers in the rear seats most of the time.

You should be fine if your not lowered.

I have 18" +43 rims 225/40/18 and I have no problems.

Eh, I'm lowered on H&R Sport springs, as said in my signature.

I found an awesome deal on these (used, but doesn't matter), and I want to make it work.

Since it's a 215, you should be ok. If your not & you really want it to work you can take a big hammer to the fenders & roll them.

You really think so? NSXNEXT seems to think that I'll definitely rub.

And could you explain to me the concept of fender rolling? Are you talking about the part that lies horizontally inside the wheel well, and rolling/folding it upward??

Yep that is what it is. A 215 isn't wide. Problem comes from the tire being too wide & hitting that inner lip.

You will rub, i have stated in another thread. SlyTLS had racing hart gt5 in 18x7.5 42mm and he rubbed like hell. Also if you go with 215 tires, expect to bend rim.

With a 215 40, not only will your tires overall diameter be off from the stock diameter, but you will have less meat on the tires. Less meat means bent rims and harsh ride.

True, I would have less meat, but according to that above link, I would gain slightly more clearance between the tread and the wheel well --> it's smaller in diameter than the stock tires.

215's are too small. your speedo will be off 4% and for every 16 miles you drive your odometer will rack up one extra mile.

I've had both 225/40/18 & 235/40/18 with a 18x7.5 w/ 42 offset and no problems at all. The 235 is the best way to go, makes it look more aggressive IMO.

+42 and lowered = you will most likely rub and will need to trim the fender tabs for sure.

???

215/50/17 vs. 215/40/18

It says speedo reading will be 2.7% too fast, which means for every 1000 miles, I'll be adding an extra 27 miles.
