18 x7.5 " RH C2's & Comptech rub?

Before I get flamed, I did do a search to see if that combo w/ a 42 offset would work. Some seem to think it will while one (Amir) says it won't. So . . . does anyone have this size w/ Comptech springs installed?
Secondly, I've seen some of these for sale w/ 9 lug holes so they will fit either a 4 or 5 lug pattern. Is this set up inherently bad?
Thanks in advance

I've got the 18'' RH C2000 wheels with 225-40-18's ... but with Eibach Prokit.

Got semi-serious rubbing in the back.

Had to gently roll the rear fenders and dremmel away some of the plastic at the very rear of the fender well.

Also, the front wheels BARELY clear the brake calipers. With 15k on the car, I couldn't fit a credit card between the wheels and the caliper. I'm afraid I'm gonig to have to grind some of it away when I put brand new pads on.

But check out the pics! It's worth it!
