100 rpms or 200 ????

when gate shifting when u shift at 6800 it takes a bit and usually goes in at 7000 rpms ,,,,,,,, just say u held it to 6900 and it went into gear at 7100 or 7200 do u think it will make a differance in 1/4 mile time

My brother in his old 1985 Mustang automatic was able to get over the governer by downshifting when he got to 120mph and then shifting up...not that we need to go faster than 140mph but has anyone tried?

it might put you out of the power bacn, but when you get into the next gear, you will be right back in the meaty part of it.

You dont want to hold it for to long because then you hit the rev limiter and it will slow you down. Ive done that a few time where I held it a sec to long and it bounced. But yeah it does help to hold it as long as possible...
