1/4 mile in 10.69!
Last race of 2002 season with brand new BBC engine in my 73'Camaro ran 10.69! Not tuned properly yet plus poor traction. Need to revamp rear suspension even to run 2003 season. Will consider full tub rear for 2004. Hope to hit 10.40 range or better by start of season! This is the first time I've talked about my race car here on the forum. Nothing like the sound of an uncorked BBC Camaro door slammer! See ya at the drags!

what size BBC your running? I'm about to start a 540 build up for my hot rod. Got the bow tie block already ready, just need to scrounge up the few bucks I need to go grab it.

ghander: I just got done responding to your power-braking question over in Car Talk! I come over here to see responses and find you again! You say that you're interested in building a 540 BBC for your hot rod but yet you question my response about power-braking and how hard that is on a trans?! Please read my response in Car Talk! In answer to your question here, I have a newly rebuilt full race 60 over 454 for a 468ci now! If and when I tub the car for 2004 season would like to build a 540-572 BBC! All motor, not nitrous. I bracket race so need ultimate consistency! Would be glad to assist you with your 540 build and what components you will need depending on what your application will be! Cheers!

KC, a N/A BBC 540 could easily run close to 900hp and if I tub the Camaro for 2004 season I will also install a 540-572 BBC! I daydream about this everyday and can hardly wait for test and tune for the 2003 season!

Can't show any pics of my Camaro but go to samoadragstrip.com and even though we have a very small dragstrip for 1/4m it provides a lot of fun anyway! Pretty much limited to 8sec. as track ends suddenly. Scared myself first time down with totally stock brakes. After I changed out front pads to Wilwood felt much better stopping times and I once again feel secure. Check out the SuperPro pics and others! There's even a few short videos!

Test and Tune only 1 month away! Car up on stands-revamping rear suspension. Hopefully will have better traction. Will be installing a remote oil filter away from hot headers. Will run synthetic racing oil, trans oil, and rearend gear oil, and water wetter in radiator. See you at the drags!!!
