After carefully removing the Accord's elegant 18" alloys, we bolted up the Dynapack and let her fly (Video Coming Soon). The numbers came up and I blinked in astonishment. So we ran another run - it repeated within 1 hp. So we ran another one, and it was within 2 hp. The numbers were legit. 268 hp and 248 lbs-ft of torque - at the hubs!

Actually you're both wrong, they got 268 HP at the hubs according to that link, not the wheels. Pretty impressive none-the-less.
EDIT: Damn, beat me to it TCM 01 CL-S!!!

Dynapack's tend to measure higher since whp is measured at the hubs w/ no wheels/tires as opposed to using big, heavy rollers. But nice numbers, nonetheless.
edit: Super beat me to it.

WOW, is that real???
According to Honda official site, Honda has 268HP @ 6200rpm and 248lb-ft @ 5000rpm.
http://automobiles.honda.com/accord-...fications.aspx
Either Honda gives out WHP or Honda is that efficiency and there is no lost in power at all.

They said they would do a 93 octane later...wich they figured would give 10hp 10tq more which the last gen did when they put 93 in.

Yes. My car was tested with regular 87 gas. Like Jeff said, I accidentally put in 87 octane again after the dyno runs out of force of habit, lol. I'm so stupid.
But at least it will provide me with a few fill ups with 91 octane in the coming weeks, and then I'll have Shawn dyno it again and we should see a representative power gain. I really need to replace the Michelins with some stickier summer rubber.
Thanks, Shawn, again for the dyno and drive time. I can't wait to see the vids we took.

If it's anything like the last-gen V6 Accords, 91 octane should add 10hp and 10 torque at the engine.

The car is advertised as having 268hp at the crank right? If this is legit, that's very impressive.
..this should probably get moved to the dyno or car talk forum..

I will wait for a confirmation via dyno video or a similar proof. Apparently Honda went from builiding some shitty transmissions (AT at least) to building hands down THE WORLD'S BEST EVER BUILT transmissions with 0% powertrain loss and the entire rest of the automotive world has something to learn. This is quite a feat considering dedicated racing teams in NASCAR, Formula 1, Rally/Autcross etc. cannot even do this. If this is the case then the secret will soon be out as the Accord Coupe should do 0-60 in around 5 seconds flat. The other possibility is that this is indeed the new 4G TL engine and actually puts down over 300 crank hp and close to 300 tq and H/A decided to be sneaky. This doesn't really make sense though as the past shows that new technology usually debuts in Acura models before similar Honda models.

Good numbers regardless. I am surprised that there is such a discrepancy between 08 AT/MT numbers, even more than that of the CLs.

Hmmm just checked out cars.com on the 08 Accord...
They actually stated in the "what we don't like" section, "so-so power from the V6".
The sedan weighs 3600 lbs and the coupe weighs 3446 lbs, while apparently the coupe has 10:1 CR compared to the sedan's 10.5:1 - ??? Also according to the website the sedan isn't offered with the 6MT...lame.
