Seen it before, I think it was a rental auto max vs. a 6 speed.

 

Is it me, or the CL really didn't beat the Max by that much. But it's hard to tell by the angle of the camara.

 

I found it on the car and driver forums under pure luxury.

It was a good run considering that that CLS was a 6spd running an "Auto" Max. I think that Max would have pulled an auto CLS slightly judging by how it held in their in the beginning with that manual. I would love to see a 6spd Max vs a 6spd CLS and an Auto Max vs a Auto CLS/TLS. A 6spd 02 max ran me in my 350 and he was with me up to 40 and by 60 he was 1 car back, those 6spd maxima and CLS's can run.

The Max was an auto vs a 6spd CLS, apples to Oranges, oranges to oranges would have been auto to auto 6spd to 6spd. the inside. I think it hung in their well for an auto especially at the beginning.

It was an auto Max in the race. I just had my ECU upgrade from Nissan and the performance difference in my auto is amazing. No more lag. The ECU was for 2k2's and 2k3's.

 

What ECU upgrade?? I didnt know the 2K2+ Maxima had an ECU upgrade on the market.

 

He's referring to the TSB for the Drive by wire throttle lag issue on some 2002 and 2003 Maximas, which also occurs on my 350 and the Altima.

 

Oh! Unfortunately (or fortunately) I dont think I have that lag problem.

 

You should take your car to the dealership and tell them you do have the lag problem. The update worked out great for me. I didn't think I had a bad problem with lag, but the throttle is alot more sensitive now.
