I was just curious how the TL would handle off a dead stop + 40mph roll. Assuming both are bone stock. I respect the CL-S a lot, I raced a CL-S a bit ago from 60-120 in my Subaru SVX once and got spanked. I just got a TL-S so curious.

 

we need more infor on if the cls is manuel or automatic... If both auto then drivers race. If the cls is manuel then the cls might have a slight advantage

 

the cls will win because tl drivers are usually fat (thats why they get the four doors ... more room) hahahahah

 

The answer is sooo simple. First of all they dont make the 03 TL-S in a manual only the CL-S was made in a manual. Same Engine, almost the same weight, but the CL-S will destroy the TL-S because the CL only has 2 doors, therefore the aerodynamics of the CL are far superior and the TL has no hope.

In the 1/4 mile the CL will win by about 6 car lengths.

6 car lengths with the same engine and your basing your assumption on aerodynamics. I was saying that we need more info because an auto tl-s vs. a 6 speed CL-S. yes the 6 speed will win but I still don't know where you got the 6 car lengths from just because of aerodynamics

 

it'll be dead even...you can trust me on that one...unless its a 6speed of course

 

ill check in on this argument because i raced an 01 CL-S about 30 mins ago in my 02 TL-s... i was actually lookin around the cl forums to see if he was a member here at AZ... anyway from a dead stop we were dead even until i cut it off at the end of 3rd b/c i was hitting 100 and i didnt feel like exceeding 100 .... sadly though even though i cut it off i still got the hazard lights from the guy haha... oh well all in good fun... theres my 2 cents though... ps we both had someone in the car with us and i have 2 10 inch mtx subs in the trunk. + 2 amps

 

does it matter? they pretty much test out the same with some mags giving the TL-S the nod and others giving the CL-S the nod....
