I would never pay over $25k for a Mustang. Then again I would never buy a Mustang for any price.

That's why Rousch (sp?) and Saleen are so silly - no one in their right mind would pay $40-50k for a friggin' Mustang; it's still a Mustang. IOW, they would have to re-do the entire interior and make it more than the typical Ford sparseness before I'd consider it. Especially after owning the CL-S.

Even the Corvette's current interior is pushing it. I don't think there are many (if any) American cars that can compare to the quality interior looks and comfort of a Japanese or German car.

Saleen's S-281 or whatever is in the neighborhood of 60k+. I would much rather have a Vette for that price. But some folks just want a Mustang...

4.6l :P

its about time Ford made something to compete with the TA's and the Camaros!

Nice work Ford! I'll never buy one... but they're back on the right track. And they did away with that POS aluminum 4.6l LOL. I know a few people who have spun bearings in the Aluminum 4.6l... too bad its only for this specfic model.

390HP I bet she has some go! vroooom!

Evo 7 will not be over 300HP. More like 260 or 250hp on US model.
and those 0-60 and 1/4 mile run are ESTIMATED time.

Yeah supposedly its going to be detuned for emissions and possible FMIC placement. However, a new rumor has been going around that Mitsu is going really try to sell more Evo VIIs to boost their image. Rumor has it that they're keeping their promise on under 30k but just barely. Its supposed to base somewhere in the 28s or 29s and reach the mid 30s. I guess this rumor is reliable enough for MT to report it.

I think part of the reason they are doing this is to insure it has bragging rights even after the WRX STi comes over. A simple ECU and possibly a different turbo could easliy boost the 4G63 to over 300hp even with California emisssions.

Its so weird, so many people hate the look. IMO both the WRX and the Evo VII are hot looking cars.

The WRC WRXes are hot cars. The ones sold in the US are weak in comparison.

The Evo has always looked like a glorified family sedan, and in my mind it fits in the same category as a 9-second Honda Civic: It may be fast, but you're still driving a Civic. In the Evo's case, you might have a great handling car but you're still in something ugly (unless you like how the US import one looks... which would certainly be an odd taste).
I'll take a nice Supra over either any day. Even stock it's sexy and it still offers excellent performance.

You think the Mustangs interior is crappy? I don't think its that bad reallty... Mustangs aren't bad cars... I wouldn;'t mind having one, and I would pay $35,000 for a Cobra, they haul ass... Even with Springs, lowered, you won't take a Cobra on the twisties.

Come on, how can you say this is ugly . I dunno but there has always been something sexy about that car. I understand its background as a family car but I think the Evo has evolved way past it. Example, the Civic Type-R is still a Civic at heart. The Evo differs so much from the Lancer/Cedia that it seems almost like a completley different car. Every major mechanical component is different. It always astonishes me the development and tech that Mitsu has put into that little car. Its AWD system is simply amazing and you can't doubt its performence in WRC for the last 8 years (back when it was still Group A and not WRC). I can't wait to test drive one when they finally get here.

IMO the Supra is a in a totally different catagory than the Evo and WRX. The Supra is the classic sports coupe and is not a part of the now emerging rally inspired econoboxes. It belongs with the Skylines and Vettes. I can't wait till Toyota makes its replacement.

Only thing I don't like about the EVO is its' TOO SMALL! just as big as a 4 door civic. If it was atleast the size of an S4then diff story but the current evo is too small for my taste.

I can't understand why anyone would want toe Evo over the Cobra... Why would you want a car that sounds like a bumblebee? I'll take that Cobra over an Evo anyday... I'd trust cubic inches over forced induction.

I'd rather have a bee sounding engine (which the Evo doesn't btw) that is more reliable.

Is it just me, or all all these variations of the SAME CAR with THE SAME INTERIOR SINCE 1995, getting long in the tooth. Ford needs to put this engine in ANOTHER CAR to fight the Corvette. I am getting tired of the Mustang having to fight anything from Eclipses to Vipers....

I like it, but for 35k HELL NO.
