03 CLS 6 Speed Performance Analysis ver. 2

OK first let me say that by raising the redline/fuelcutoff from 6900 to 7200 rpm the acceleration got slightly better for the 6 SPEED car.

14.64 and 5.96 secs for the 1/4 mile and 0-60mph accordingly.

Now here are some interesting data I found that really shows where the 6 Speed car will shine as compared to the Auto car. And that data has to do with acceleration while in motion. Here are the numbers:

30mph to 50mph

AUTO CAR
2nd gear: 2.9
3rd gear: 5.0
4th gear: 10.5
5th gear: 22.3

6 SPEED CAR

2nd gear: 2.2
3rd gear: 3.4
4th gear: 5.3
5th gear: 7.8
6rth gear: 12.6 !!!
----------------------------------------------

50mph to 70mph

AUTO CAR
2nd gear: 3.1
3rd gear: 4.8
4th gear: 9.4
5th gear: 17.2

6 SPEED CAR

3rd gear: 3.5
4th gear: 4.9
5th gear: 7.1
6th gear: 17.2

Note: 2nd gear is too short for 6speed car for 50-70mph run.
---------------------------------------------------------

You all must have heard of the infamous Nurburgrin Race Track in Germany. That is where Porsche and BMW will test their fast cars to brag about lap times. That is where BMW tested its new M3 last year to find it actually slightly quicker than the 911 (at that time the 911 made less power than it does now).

ANyway, I put the 6 SPeed car and the Auto car on the track and here are the numbers:

THe 6 SPeed car made the lap in 9 minutes and 50.9 seconds.

The Auto car lapped in 9 min and 57.6 seconds.

During the longest straight of the track, the 6 Speed car went all the way to 146mph in 5th gear.

Anyone remembers what the M3 and 911 lap times are?

Q: How fast does the e46 M3 lap Nurburgring/Nordschliefe in Germany?

A: This infamous circuit located in Germany is where BMW finely tuned the e46 M3 with countless laps and miles of high speed testing. Fastest lap recorded by BMW test drivers is 8min, 22secs according to Born-free.net.

The E46 M3 CSL did it in ~7:52

Does that simulator account for suspension/handling or is it doing purely power?

Wow. That is a hell of a difference. I dont know how much the simulator considers handling. It should but I done know to what extend.
