Anyone having problems with steering. I have a 01 CL-S with 16k miles on it. For the past couple of weeks the steering changed from being silky (I could steer with my fingertips) to having to steer with both hands because it was really hard. I checked all the fluid levels, tire pressures, alignment, wheel balances, etc. Anyone with similar issues? Any recommendations?Suggestions?

 

man, i wish i had your problem.. i find the steering to get too light on me especially around 80.. have you had you 2nd tire rotation yet? after that my car settled down some what. what do you mean by 'hard' is it just a bit more stiff or are you straining to turn the wheel?

 

My car has 16000 miles. I had rotated the tires once. I am not straining to steer but it does feel harder. I think it is the power steering pump which is making some noises when I break. I will take it to the only dealership there is in a 100 mile radius from where I live. I hope to get an answer as soon as possible. And by the way have you seen the new manual-6 speed. What do you think. I was planning on trading my car(particularly if it is giving me trouble) but the trade in value is less than 23000! Unbelievable for a semiluxury car. What do you think.

 

hmm yeah have the second rotation done and have them check the power steering system, should be all waranty..
yeah i was offered 23k as well, about 2.5k short of the payoff, so not real worth it.. the six speed would have appealed to me if they had done something more with the handling, which is my biggest gripe..
