I was heading home on the 210 about to exit and this GS430 wanted to play. I had to miss my exit but it was worth it. We hit it from about 75mph, we were neck and neck for 2 seconds but i started inching away by the top end of third gear YAY. I gate shifted at 7200 rpms and by then the GS was at my rear bumper. Once i was in 4th he pulled 1 car on me but i stayed right behind him till 125-130 when i killed it. I rarely go over 100mph but this GS was just a great opponent and I had fun hehehe.
I think i could have beat him if we started at lower speeds but oh well...

Ah, close one there. yeah 4th is a real slug. I think if guys had started from about 50, you probably could have kept the lead deep through 4th.

I guess that answers the question whether or not a stock CL-S could ever hang with a GS400/430. It wasn't modded right?

Im pretty sure he wasnt modded. I think so too, it would have been a different outcome if we started at 50mph...

I kinda think that GS430 should have walked on you. Even more so on the top from 75mph.

btw, how are those hks super draggers? do they sound nice and loud? sorry to go off-topic, just wondering cause im ordering mine this week

Actually the race he had sounds about right. I had a similar race with a LS430(same weight and same motor as GS430). We went twice from 0-110 and his front bumper was a halfs car length behind my bumper. This was with my 2003 Accord V6 w/CAI. He was stock. I know the CL-S is as fast so that sounds right.

The HKS are great, they sound mean at low rpms. They are a lil big but i think it looks good on the CL.
When i installed it one tip of the exhaust was hanging lower than the other one, i had to adjust it with a hose clamp.

haha! i just posted about this in another thread. Acura should have installed a direct port nitrous system for fucking up the 4th gear. just hook up a bottle and fly through 4th!

If I dont have a race one by 4th gear I just shut it down, no need wasting more gas by trying to push it in 4th gear.
