the other night i was on my way home from work and some ricey ass kid in a two tone orange and black 01 prelude passes me. i let him get over and he slowed down to about 75. i dropped back into 3rd and passed him back. then the road opened up to a two lane that is straight for about a mile and a half, and then has a easy curve, and another mile straight away... he got beside me and purged about 5 times like he was trying to scare me or somethin. i dropped into 3rd again about the same time he did and i started to pull on him right away... right when i hit 4th, i could hear him purge again and then i guess he sprayed, because i stopped pulling on him as fast as i was. at about 145 i was about 5 or 6 car lengths ahead, and his car started to smoke really bad. what a piece of shit... the next day i saw him at zaxby's and he said that he supposedly runs low 13's....

same day i also raced a BMW M5 (probably about a 2000)... it was pretty close but his car smoked so damn bad that i guess he fouled the plugs out because i beat him too... i thought M5's were quick...

I own a 2000 M5, and a 2001 CL. the M will toast the cl on any given day. the BMW was probobly a M/clone I see alot of them around. it may of been a a 540 or a 530 or a 525 cloned out.

if it was a clone, then he has spent way too much money on it.. it has EVERYTHING M5 on it... the engine is a real M5 Engine... i am sure... it has the twin intakes and everything... huge brakes, m5 body work, gauge cluster, full m5 interior, m5 tranny,.... man im positive it was the real t hing either that or this guy pretty much did a complete conversion on a 540i and spent about $25k on it.. dont get me wrong... its fast... but with just a CAI and some good tires, i ran a 13.897 @104.72 MPH in reynolds, ga (silver dollar raceway). this Cl just runs really good... and that M5 ran like shit... i swear he burned at least a quart of oil when he tried to race me...

I have owned an M5 as well and there is no way a stock CL is keeping up. I've beat 911's in that thing! Here's a pic, my CL's in the back. Either your not telling us the truth, or that was no M5.

I OWN A 2001 PRELUDE with a built engine... i know exactly how they run and i guarantee you that a stock CL-S 6mt will smoke a prelude with bolt ons and NOS.... the prelude is about 100 lbs lighter... but the CL has about 70 more whp.... so after bolt ons and nos, the lude and CL would run about the same... the prelude had a system im sure, and it also has lambo doors and about 50 lbs on bondo on it where he shaved everything...

ill run you in anything you have... look at my sig... i have 3 cars and a bike... all 4 of my vehicles will smoke your shit... and even if that M5 was ragged out... i will put ten stacks that my 12 second lude will smoke any stock M5 and my Trans Am will smoke just about anything on this site with 4 wheels in a straight line... and even then if that wont, ill just go get my bike and then we can have some real fun.... remember kid.... Cl-S is 260+ hp stock, and i dynoed 233WHP with minor bolt ons... my prelude put down 168whp stock... you need to come down here and see how we do things...

1997-2001 Prelude Sh weighs 3020lbs and base weighs 2962lbs in 97 when it first came out it was the wolds fastest N/A front wheel drive car in the world, I have owend 7 Preludes total 4 5th gen, I will put my prelude with only bolt ons and minor head work against my CLS with its bolt ons any day and smoke it, this guy is either the king of BS or these other people did not know that they were racing him, stock to stock the prelude has about a half second Q/M advantage over the cls and on top end the cl dosent stand a chance.

I just picked up an '01 5spd Prelude for myself. They're actually decently quick. It only has a SRI on it right now, however it's got a nice pull to it. Redline is at 7400 but from my reading on the prelude boards, it seems the max power is at about 7600-7700. This drops you back into VTEC for the next gear about about 5200rpms. With a good driver, they can run low 15s, but most run in the 15.3-15.5 range. With basic bolt-ons they're in the mid-high 13s. Alot of guys on the boards have a basic turbo set up and are dippin in the 13s easily at about 5-6psi.

Oh and, Josh is correct on the weight; there is no way in hell they're 3300lbs, lol. The base is around 2960 and the SH is 3040 or so due to the ATTS system

I bought a eastwood company port n polish kit I opened up the exhaust and intake ports a little and then port matched the intake manifold and put in ferrara valves and z-speed springs and retaners I also have jun cam gears but have not tuned them on a dyno yet

What you are saying is true, that you have 70 more whp, and the prelude was somehow the same weight (a giant fatty in the car) with nitrous, he would be running an extra horsepower (read 30 MORE THAN YOU) plus 100 ft-lb boost...

I HAVE A BUILT PRELUDE you fake ass ghetto lookin basard... I will race anybody on here who runs all motor... and by the way... CL-S are geared the same as a prelude, plus one gear... dumbass... also.... preludes have 200 stock HP, CL-S has 270.... thats 70 more... not , that prelude has ghetto ass lambo doors and about 200 lbs of bondo on it from shaving everything... which makes the weight about evem. CL-S has a LSD... prelude doesnt. CL-S hits rev limiter at 7400.. prelude hits at 7900... big fucking deal.. look it up on car and driver. a stock CL-S 6 speed runs under 14.8@ 98 mph.... prelude runs 15.5@92mph.. and ive been to the track hundreds of times, and never seen a stock prelude run 15.5, so thats a good estimate. I have however seen a CL-S 6 speed run mid 14's with minor bolt ons... it takes a 100 shot on a prelude to even get close to mid 14's... and i know since I HAVE ONE!!!!! check my car domain... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2131124 ... my prelude put down over 275 whp... thats about 315 at the flywheel... a stock prelude with I/H/E and a 100 shot will put down 255whp MAYBE!!! preludes generally have 171whp stock... all the bolt ons you can imagine will ony add about 10 whp....thats about 181... plus a 100 shot that is really about 70 at the wheels makes it about 250... tops... and thats if it is tuned right.. so quit talking and put your money where your mouth is.... wheres your car anyway?? what the hell do you drive???? i think i'll sell my cars and buy 15 of yours you poor ass ghetto motherfucker... grow up, pull your pants up... and go to school, and quit being so damn ignorant.. you make americans look bad...
