Talking 03 CL-S 5AT vs. 06 Cobalt SS/SC 5MT

I was coming home from the car wash and stopped at a red light and a Cobalt pulls up and stops reving his little 4 cyl. in my face and asks if i want to run (i kind of didnt want to because i had lost to a Neon SRT-4 a couple days back).

Anyway, i decide to go for it so we took off when the green light hit and he just takes off and hes has about a 1 car lead until my VTEC kicks in in 2nd and i just start pulling hard! finally passed him and he never got close. i let off at about 80. SS = Super Slow

Are you sure it wasn't just the SS (171hp) and not the SS Supercharged? Those do a ~14.4 1/4. I figured a supercharged SS would take you.

Yea smaller engines tend to pick up faster..... his first gear was very strong, second a little less, and third didnt seem like it had much power

Yup, those classless SRT-4's are a pain in the ass. But I guess you can only polish a turd so much, but you sure can add a turbo and lots of boost to make anything quick. Not to mention we are 600lbs hevier.

hmm...interesting...i find it extremely hard that you took him. A basically stock type S will not take a stock cobalt ss/sc. The cobalt is capable of low 14's stock, i ran personally ran a 14.1 in mine. He probably let off after he was ahead.

here's the other dude's side of the story.

?????????? Cant possibly be the same one. Yellow cobalt? how can i confuse a win with a 3 car loss? I'll admit if i lost "because i had lost to a SRT-4 a couple days back " ^ look at first post. Doubt it was the same one because the dates are off.
