03 6spd Strange Wine From Engine ??
I recently installed a Comptech Titanium Strut Bar and now I'm getting a strange "Wine" from the engine/power steering pump. Has anyone else experienced this ??
Thanks.
Thanks.

Back to a MT!
I dont know if its the same type of whine, but I get almost a quiet supercharger whine that gets louder with RPMs...It almost sounds like electical feed back in the radio, but I know its not that cause I turned it off. I took it to the dealer, said its normal so I have no idea

I have that same noise. Dealer told me it was normal also. I think they said it was from the egu valve or whatever cycling. They siad that it is normal, and acura just didnt use a quieter valve, but there isnt anything wrong.

A Chardonnay or a Merlot or what? We can't really help unless we know what kind of wine.
Give me your address and we'll send over some cheese and crackers...

your Strut bar is touching the Power steering hose on the top left where the black rubber hose is right under the Strut bar.....I would place a soft element to dampen the noise between the bar and the power steering hose

Good chance the strut bar is contacting the strut bar where it tucks under the strut bar on the right side of the engine compartment .If the hose touches the bar the natural whine sound in the line will transfer to the bar and then to the body where you can hear it .The line if it is contacting must be relocated slightly to alleviate the problem .

We Have a WINNER !!
Damn,
The last two post's are really sharp tacks because they were spot on. I took my wife's Stethascope and listened to the power steering hose under the strut bar and sure enough it was the same sound. I recently installed a Comptech Titanium Bar and since it's hollow, it was amping the sound through the tube. All I had to do is zip tie the hose down a little so it didn't make contact with the bar.
Thanks again guys.

Same thing happened to me months ago after I had the Comptech Titanium Bar installed.
The whining sound got loudest when making a turn. It turned out that the bar was touching in several places around the power steering pump, hose and fittings. The remedy I used was to slightly bend (very carefully) the metal part of the hose and do a little rerouting of it. I also put some hot water pipe foam insulation around the strutbar where it was touching. I haven't had any problems since.
