02 Road Lamps on 03?

Hey guys, two questions. Does anyone know for a fact that if I were to purchase the 02 lamps from the dealer would I have all I need to install them on the 03 CL-S 6 speed I have on order? Do I need additional hardware? Anyone done this? I know they suck stock but I want to add Polargs and I like the look.

Question two - which high beam bulbs best match the color and power of the Xenon low beams? Cost?

Thanks for the input.

The housing is the exact same shape and will fit, but you’ll need to wire them to the headlights or a manual switch because the stock wiring isn’t there anymore.

Maybe rather than put lights there, make air vents to help cool the engine. Just an idea.

Yes

The 02 Lamps will fit the 03's, but like Shawn S. said you need to wire them up.. I would use the empty switch plate next to the cruise control and put in a toggel so you can run your fog/driving lights and parking assembly lights at dusk.. but BEWARE, some states will not pass inspection if your fogs do not go out when you put on your HIGH BEAMS... it is illegal here in PA, but they never caught me with my other cars..

How much are you picking up the fog/driving lights for? Technically they are called driving lights, cause fog lights are yellow in color...

I just bought a pair of the "driving lights' from the acura dealer, and I paid $108 for them. Each dealer's price varies though. But that included the 2 housings, 2 bulbs, 2 bulb sockets, 2 screws, and 2 of those little metal clips that allow the housing to be screwed into the body.

and now that i've learned that the wiring is no longer in the 03 model i will have to figure out how to connect the bulb socket which has a socket to connect a harness to a switch. the harness was originally avialable in the 01-02 model and came as part of the pre-wiring that was with the car.

Well for starters, you'll have to be very patient with the part's clerk because he will have to be diggin in their computers to find the parts. They guy I talked to was very helpful. I got them from cerritos acura

Here are the actual Honda Part Numbers with their description. There are two separate light housing numbers for the right and left side

33951-S3M-A02 Light Housing
33901-S3M-A02 Light Housing
34303-SS1-003 Socket to hold bulb
33301-SA0-741 Bulb (Type 168, wedge bulb)
90333-SM3-003 Screw
90302-SA4-003 Nut, Spring

when you go to the dealer, be sure to double check that these are the parts that you need. i copied the parts numbers from my invoice but have them check that they are actually part of the "driving lights"

you don't have to get the bulbs from the dealer if you are planning on getting a set of PIAA, Raybrig, Polarg or other type as long as they are the 168 wedge type bulb.

Hope this helps.

Why do this? The stock lights SUCK!!! You'd be better off buying a good pair of real driving/fog lights & mounting them in the road lamp spaces. You have to wire a switch anyway, why not get some real lights.

well the only reason for going with these is for the fitting, they can be securley fitted and wihtout any chance of being stolen. And with all the bulbs that are out there you can make them pretty bright. But i know where you are coming from, because you do have to do the wiring anyways.

I did some research before buying them, and there are a lot of diffferent bulbs you can get to make em brighter

PIAA ion crystal 168
Polarg
Raybrig
Sylvania HALOGEN!!!! (yes you read right halogen!) - these are the best i've seen so far, and they are bright. I used them in my last car, i had a 97 gsr, and i used them for my corner lamps, instrument cluster, map lights and they were bright as hell!

but it's all about your preference. I'm still doing some more digging on some other fog lights so as soon as i finish that i'll post up that news.
