'02 Maxima SE vs '01 CLS
Hey i was wounderin what your guys opinion would be on a race between an '02 Maxima Se (AUTO) vs '01 CLS???
If both cars were stock which would win?

CLS. it does the quarter anywhere from 14.7-15.0 stock on average. Some have gotten faster and some slower. Not sure about the max but I've heard its more of a low 15 second car. Overall they are pretty close though.

Hey its dark from Edmunds discussion. Good job coming here. A-CL will answer all your questions and then some. Most, now that CL is discontinued are actually pretty unbiased.
Maxima and CLS are both great cars. really your decision is if you want 2 or 4 doors and if you like the style of both. Both will be reliable, pretty quick, etc. Good luck

ok i would be the perfect person to ask... i rent to Hertz ALOT, and everything i get a Max.. of course auto..
Max auto, off the line, it does have lots of torque, but since the highend is weak... Max will probally lead, but then CLS sure will come from behind...
BUT... dont let Max get on you freeway.. i ran with this one unknown CLS guy on 10 in LA... i was infront of him, floored it... he actually did caught up to my back door at end of 3rd... but guess wat... once CLS hit 4th... i just took off, he couldnt even catch even close.... tried second time... we were side by side race... we both floored... same thing, i jumped, but then CLS pulled like for a car... same thing, once hit 4th, i instantly pulled from behind, walked him and he trailed by like 4 cars... if not, more...
so conclusion, i truly think CLS auto is quicker than Max auto.. due to the highend power.... but since the CLS gear ratio sucks, it got stucked!
