02' Maxima SE
(here we go again
)
My buddy got ahold of his brothers 02 Maxima SE (automatic), with about 8K on it. He called me and wanted to race.... so I had no choice.
Anyway.... It really was a little disappointing, I thought the Maxima would have been faster.
We raced 4 times. I WON ALL FOUR. We did 3 runs from a stop, I was 3 for 3, including one where he got a head start on me (just barley caught up and passed him). All runs were up to about ~80-85 mph. On the 2 even starts I had about 2 cars on him and was pulling away when we shut it down. I gate shifted with VSA off on all runs. He went through his gears manually, with his T/C off.
4th run was from about a 15-20 mph roll, that wasn't even close. I took a 2 car lead off the hit and pulled (thank you SS)....

Have you been to the track? Even the auto 2k2 Max is pretty quick... I see you are in chicago. I was at Route 66 in Joliet with a pair of stock ones that both ran 14.8 on a very bad day at the track. So bad that I was running nearly .5 seconds off my best times.
good kill.
good kill.

I ran 14.8's all day @ ~97 on a WET/DAMP track with tons of wheelspin. I think I would ~14.6 under good conditions.

Thats a little quicker than the auto 2k2 Max's run, they typically trap 92-94mph, the ones I went to the track with were trapping 94-95 that day.

I went to US41 back in January... I was feening for some drag racing and it was the closest track that stays open all winter. That track really sucked, but at least I got some January drag racing in. John, a member of this board was there with his modded CL-S (red), I'm not sure what his name is on this board though.
