01 cls vs. 98 cobra
this is a 98 cobra convertable with a former honda owner driving it it has 100k and the stats on a coupe are 0-60 in 5.9 seconds and the quarter in 13.9 the question is how much weight did the convertable add?

Hmm, you definitely should be close even with a decent driver.

If it's a bad driver you might have a shot. Definitely post the results.

You = 14.9 @ 95mph (if you are a stock 01 CL-S)
Him = 14.0 @ 100mph (assuming bone stock)
The vert adds about 150lbs to the Cobra, but even then its not much, if any, heavier than the CL-S. Do you know he is bone stock? Typical bolt-ons to the 4V N/A Cobra make ALOT more hp than bolt-ons to the CL-S. He can do full exhaust/pulleys/timing bump/rear gears and run mid/low 13's with traction.
You are going to lose, unless the driver of the Cobra doesnt know what a clutch is. My guess is you take him off the line by a 1/4 car, then he's gonna pull HARD after he gets into 2nd gear. They are much faster cars from a roll than from a stop. The 96-01 Cobra's dont make much power until 3k rpm.
BTW they came from the factory with 300hp/300tq, you have 260hp/230tq. You have a power sapping automatic, he has an efficient manual trans.
You = 200whp/175wtq
Him = 260whp/275wtq

i bet i would get owned by a stock one. and i am definitely not stock.
i almost had a chance to run a Cobra of the mentioned generation the other day. he was a cocky driver too. the traffic didn't allow us to have any room though.
