01 cls vs 07 civic si
I have a friend that has an 07 civic si and he thinks he can beat my 01cls(auto). I have a comptech CAI and the comptech cat back exhaust. I think I will beat him. But I wondering what you guys think. Would it be close? Would he be faster off the line?

it will be close but you'll beat him if you know how to launch the car.
I beaten one before on a stock cl-s

Its a drivers race. If you know what you're doing, being that you have an auto theres less margin chance of an error for you. You can beat him.

Low end you will pull hard on him (they have no torque).. and by high end he will be able to keep the same distance. Just a guess but I think you will take him by at least a car to around 100 mph.

^ ya torque is really important,i raced my friend and he had 10 more torque than me,he pulled so hard first but then my vtec kicked in and i had him after 40 mph.just floor on auto and you should be good.

where is....
definitely a drivers race. but even though you have more tq than him, the 6-speed lsd transmission comes in handy from a dig. and they've also been known to pull 0-60 in 6.3secs with an excellent driver.

Those little SI's are fast for what they are. There is one guy that ran a 14.1@99MPH in his stock Civic SI. Here is the link....

It will be a drivers race. Most people can't break out of the high 14's to low 15's.

Dont underestimate the K20. We have a ton more torque than they do but power to ratio is king. I raced a stock sedan Si at the track when I had my TL-S and didn't know how to launch, he jumped on me but I eventually passed him and hit the quarter mile about a length and a half in front of him.

wow he got mad hater on youtube lol. even when showing the time slip and that there was no mods done to the car. i dont like when haters try to discredit people's proven accomplishments. If they cant prove it thats another story. But anyway, SI is damn quick, better be on your toes to be able to pull 'em

The 07' Civic Si is a pussy ass car. I made a thread topic about racing one a while back. It is a somewhat quick little car--I'll give it that much. But that car has NO top end. I have bone stock 02' CL-S and pulled away from that punk bastard like he was standing still when traffic finally cleared for me to pass him. If we raced from zero in no traffic I would have killed him from the get-go.

you should beat him.
i raced my friend's si with my Cl-P and lost once by half a car length and the second time smoked him by at least two. With a CLS it should be no question.

i think its a drivers race with the edge to the CL-S. when i had my bone stock 01-CL-S i raced a friends bone stock 06-Si from a dig, 1st race was dead even till 3rd and i pulled 1 car length, 2nd race he spun too much and got him by 4+ cars, 3rd race he had a good launch and i spun a little too much and it was even till 110. i dont think one car should "smoke" the other as long as there are equal drivers
